Are you guys for real.Lets overpay for a old man.Really I mean come on why do some fans think signing players who were once great are going to make us better.Redskins added RG3 from the draft. The Redskins have been a joke for over a decade because their Owner has been doing just what some of you people want, signing has beens.

Not big on this idea but it doesn't matter because it's Balt or retire for him.
This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

They also added old man London Fletcher a few years ago and it's worked out pretty well for them.

My concern is if they add Reed then they will flat out ignore the Safety position until he breaks down (which could be really soon given his age).

I feel the same way about it.
That just hurts the team down the road even more as the other positions get older too.

Hire a good coach. It would be cheaper, and probably be more effective.

Great idea!
I am sure Ed Reed will come to the Cowboys for the vet minimum at this stage in his career.
Because that is all we could afford.

Good point but Fletcher is not human. That guy plays with missing limbs, brain damage and any other physical disadvantages without slowing down. Its unreal.
Garrett to players: Make today a great day; go about the business of winning! If you can't keep up then don't step up.

Good luck. Ed Reeds come around once every 20 years. The guy is probably the best safety to ever play the game.

And the Bulls need to draft the next Michael Jordan.

Show me a good coach? They're just as hard to find as Ed Reeds are...
The idea that we can just grab one is a bit off the mark.
Reed still can ball, he's got probably 1-2 years in him. Not saying it's going to happen, it was merely a proposition.
I just saw he was a FA and thought it was something to ponder. If he is able to show/teach any of our younger guys, I feel that would be quite valuable.
All Process and No Progress.

Forget about it, lets talk about some realistic safety options..if Reed was ever to walk away from Baltimore the only other team he'd consider playing for is the Dolphins. He's all but said as much.

The answer is quite clear what we should do. If you can get Ed Reed, old and all, even for a season or two, the overall play on defense is improved ten-fold. Putting it in simple terms, our safeties - with the possible exception of Church - are nothing more than bodies. No upside. Lacking any real NFL-caliber talent.
