Who cares? It's cycling for crying out loud.

That is not near enough information to draw any type of conclusions. The course is different every year. The weather(wind, rain, temp, etc.) could play a factor. The strategy of the racing teams or even the peloton can choose to ride slower on any given day or days. There is also improvement in the bikes and equipment.

Look I don't want anybody to have an advantage, but these sports are grueling. I can't blame anybody for wanting to get an edge. Been around sports my whole life, most notably football, and believe me PED'S are rampant.
O no, it's still cheating, whether everyone is using (which is an exaggeration) or not.

Yup, if it's against the rules, it's cheating no matter how you slice it. You can try to justify it by pointing the finger at Timmy and Bobby, saying they do it too. And that's understandable to some extent. It's still cheating though.

I was providing a simple answer to a simple question. There are many variables to take into account but there is a clear trend of increased performance before and during Lance's reign and a drop off immediately after. Keep in mind these averages are based on 150 riders registering 3500 miles in three weeks. Every year is different but it still follows a clear trend line.

I'm so tired of Armstrong. Having lived in Dallas for the last 21 years makes it even worse, the more you learn about him. It's been clear for a long time that he and all the rest in his sport have been dopers. But when you talk to personally some of the people that know or knew him you become further disappointed. The guy was a bit of a bully and could be a real ***, from what I'm told.
What was he, sportsman of the year 5-6 times?
Good grief.
As all people that fall, I hope he comes clean inside and out. But I'm just sick of him and his sport.

He is a terrible person whether he cheated at sports or not.

I don't follow cycling so I don't care if he cheated and won. Don't care that others are cheating either. Just can the whole sport if the entire thing is tainted. Doesn't matter to me either way.

The only thing his confession does is completely demolish the foundations of what would have been one of the greatest sports stories of all time. A foundation that was awfully wobbly even without the admission.

Having admitted to cheating, the story is trash. Just another example of someone using illegitimate means of getting ahead.

When they came out a while back and took his titles, I was like "so.....he's filthy rich off them, I doubt he cares". But now after having heard of his efforts to basically cut anyone in his path down, I'm glad they took those away and I'm glad he's admitting because now it might nail him in the pocketbooks.......maybe.

That said, the result of his cheating on a grander scale cannot be denied. He did a ton for cancer research and for that he should be applauded, cheater or not.

Cheat in a rather uninteresting sport and use it to the benefit of countless people, I'm cool with that. Now that he has done it though and out of the picture at in that foundation (he did step down didn't he?), I hope they wreck him for being such a heartless ******* to anyone who stepped up to him.

Default He's clearly made mistakes...

...like all of us.

And like many before him he is going to pay for those mistakes.

Climbing to the top requires helping hands and steady shoulders to boost you up. Sometimes we, either by choice or mistake, step on the heads of others on the ascent.

It is a wisdom to try to avoid that because those same heads will be relishing your descent.

I'm wondering why he came clean. And I'm wondering why some people are even surprised.

Bye, RGIII

Im afraid i dont know much about Lance other than what he did as a cyclist and now the admission to doping, but i keep reading from people that he was a real jerk.

What exactly did he do or is he doing for people to consider him so heartless and so forth. I saw on ESPN everyone was stating they didnt care for his attitude and what he was doing but thats all i heard.... I must have completely missed out on the story.

I have never run into him in Austin. I have heard that he is just rude to people. This was told to me by a few people I have met at parties and such. I have also heard people call into the radio stations with similar experience. He seemingly has an "he thinks his you know what doesn't stink" attitude.

He has also been very vindictive against anyone that tried to tell what is apparently the truth about his doping.

Here is a long article from this past October:

suing someone for libel, slander or whatever he did, who is telling the truth usually is considered jerkish behavior. makes it worse when it's a person, not a coorporation.

then add to it the personal attacks he made to discredit these people, when some only came foward because the government came calling, makes it worse.

I think he should be more embarrassed for going on Oprahs show and confessing.

Geez, Lance take back your nads and move on.

He is obviously targeting females by going on Oprah. I don't know if that strategy will work, but he is trying to get women on his side as much as possible.
