Default Cowboys won't finalize coaching staff yet

MOBILE, Ala. -- Dallas Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones said he's in no rush to finalize the coaching staff.

"No, oh no," Jones said briefly on Monday following a late afternoon Senior Bowl practice. "No not at all. We have no timetable pressures here. I don't look for anything such as finalizing of the decisions of the staff while we're here."

The Cowboys have vacancies at special teams, running backs, tight end and kicking coach.

Default Jerry Jones says Cowboys won't complete staff during Senior Bowl week

Jerry Jones says Cowboys won't complete staff during Senior Bowl week

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said he does not expect to complete the coaching staff before the Cowboys leave the Senior Bowl.
He said the Cowboys, who have assistant coaching vacancies in at least four positions – tight end, defensive line, running backs and special teams – are interviewing this week at the all-star game but that there is no deadline.
“No, not at all. We have no timetable pressures here,” he said after watching the South team practice at Ladd-Peebles Stadium, where the Senior Bowl will be played Saturday. “I don’t look for anything such as a finalization of decisions on staff while we’re here.”

He's waiting until the super bowl. Loves the media attention.

I guess I do not follow his logic in making such vital decisions for the future of this team. How can you not be in a hurry to get the best talent available with such limited choices.

From the article: "Jones and head coach Jason Garrett are expected to conduct interviews here and follow-ups at Valley Ranch."

Just wanted to point the bolded part out to all the ignorant Garrett haters.

Trent Dilfer: "Tony [Romo] has greatness in him. I think when you talk to other people that really play the quarterback position, there's a few guys that really have incredible greatness in them, and Tony is one of them. I think the issue here is he needs more help from his teammates. I think they are not nearly as talented as people say they are, from 1 to 53. I'm talking about the total roster.”

There were a couple of tweets today talking about the Joneses with Mike Tice that led you to believe maybe he's an option.

We'll settle this with a good dust up.

Yes because it was written it has to be true. And since it was posted on the internet it has to be true. Everyone know you can't lie on the internet

I agree.

I heard Calvin Watkins say tonight that Robinson might be on his way out to make room for Cally's WR coach that knows his offense.

Said Cally might run his O and JGs mixed in.

Alot of asst. coaches go to the Senior Bowl, so maybe Jerry is scouting asst. coaches in Mobile, to fill out the staff.

Apparently Garrett was not at the senior bowl.

@BryanBroaddus: “@VinceRReyes: @BryanBroaddus No Garrett at senior bowl practice, is that common?” Had to be interviewing coaches.
