Jerry knowing more about football than someone who posts on a message board (which I'm not even convinced is the case) doesn't really mean he's equipped to be GM of an NFL team.

Your posting history led me to believe the date was wrong. But I had thought it was in error 20 years in the opposite direction.

If I hang around with the Rolling Stones for 20 years, does that mean I can play guitar?

Poor guy, it's just not in Jerry Jones to be a football person,
Jones was a star running back at North Little Rock HS ,

He was a co-captain of the 1964 National Championship football team.

He was an all-SW Conf O lineman

24 years experience in NFL as GM

3 SB wins

13 seasons with Playoff appearance

8 NFCE champs

now give me the list of GMs with better resumes....and see if you can respond without saying "17 years and counting" or "Jimmy did it"

Sure, he may not be equipped to be a GM, but it's not because he's "not a football guy".

No. And Jerry can't be a quarterback either.

But if I say you know nothing about the Rolling Stones, I look a fool.

Give me the list of GMs with a worse track record over the last 17 years.

Hint: you can't, because they were all fired well before going 17 years of winning nothing.

Look, Jerry himself said he would fire himself. What leg exactly are you standing on here?

Knowing something about the Rolling Stones and knowing how to write music are very, very different things.

Name just one GM in the entire world of sports that has Jerry Jones record for 16 seasons and counting....just ONE.

Then say he can't write music. But don't claim he knows nothing about it.

Are you intentionally being dense? Or is it by accident?

I'm saying he is not qualified to write music, or in other words to be the GM for an NFL team. He has the job because he amassed enough money to buy one.

Maybe we are differing in our definition of a "football guy", but to me its not just someone who has been privileged enough to be around other football people for a long time. There is obviously an aptitude for it that is necessary and that Jerry clearly lacks.

My mother could spend 20 years hanging out with football people. That will never make her a capable NFL GM or "football person" either.

That bad music is being forced on all the players, fans and coaches not just on this squad but all around the NFL...and it's not pretty.

It's been a looong time since we seen football around here and this is a football State by God.

Oh, you must incorrectly think knowledge can't be purchased. He bought it. With time and money. His application of knowledge and experience may prove wrong, but that's not what we're talking about.

I suppose it is unintentional. Have a good evening.

is that how yall were taught to answer a question?....with a question....

I know he isnt perfect and would probably be better for the team if he were replaced, but to those that say he is not and never been a football man , I return to my question......what NFL GM has a better resume.....?

yall keep saying .."17 years and counting"...thats a real sweet saying.. it rings hollow......8 of those seasons we went to playoffs, so they werent total failures.....and you all cling to the good old days.....what good old days?...the good old days of only having 2 rings?......

only two other teams have as many lombardis as we do , and most of those came because of Jerry not in spite of him....

yes it sucks not having been to a SB in that long of a time, but damn grow a pair and stop whining...
