Exactly. Come to think about it, did they even call them SEALS at all? Even once?
They never said what part of the military they were from I don't think.

Sometimes too much of a great thing kind of ruins the great thing and some of the fights in that movie were too long.
There was a couple of times where it seemed like different fights had a few parts where they used the exact same sequence.
Hope that makes sense.

Yes, non stop fighting is too much of a good thing. Loved the intensity though. Realistic too as ten bad guys weren't firing automatic weapons at one target who quickly killed them all with one mag of a semiauto pistol.
Did you know there are only 5000 Snow Leopards in the wild now and they are confined to Central Asia? However, the effective global population (those likely to reproduce) is less than half that number.

Went to Zero Dark Thirty and had to leave. Upset the wife too much. Ducked into Lincoln and we enjoyed that a great deal.

The worst part was the very first trailer was all SEALs. I thought it was going to be 99% SEALs, like Act of Valor. Big disappointment there. With that said though, Zero Dark Thirty had the coolest SEAL scenes in a movie to this day. Tears of the Sun is a close second..even though I'm not entirely sure they were SEALs in that.

Me too. That was their hook to draw us in and it worked yet I still loved the movie. The last scene made up for it I guess in a way, was a good one.

Life of Pi - 9/10 - Wow. That's a movie that needs to be seen in 3D for sure. Just a feast for the eyes. It was a good story too. It kind of reminded me of the movie "Big Fish" from a few years back.

Take Shelter - 9/10 - phenomenal acting, gorgeous cinematography, and a mysterious thriller till the end. The only deduction comes from an ending that is controversial from the viewers perspective. I found the ending to be great after thinking about it in context with the whole movie afterwards.

Great movie and Michael Shannon is a great actor. I really felt for his character when he flipped out at the community centre dinner. Compelling.

My favorite hobby - watching Mustangs fall behind in the rearview mirror of my '01 C5.

Django-
Enjoyed it immensely.
Love the local Jamie Foxx and find Tarantino to be our quintessential modern American filmmaker.
Right amount of violence, humor, swagger all with the good guy/bad guy motif.

All three were terrific for different reasons. Life if Pi was a visual feast, but required thought and reflection about the boy's life. The Hobbit was the Peter Jackson visual spectacular with some humor thrown in. A bit lighter than LOTR. Action sequences were quite long. Les Mis was a great view, particularly if you've seen the live production. The knock on Russel Crowe's singing is unwarranted. He's an actor who sings a bit, not a singer who acts a bit. Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway were outstanding.

I have not seen Les Miserables, but have heard the criticism of Crowe's performance. I disagree with your stance. The guy sings more than just a bit and has done so throughout his career in entertainment. He probably has done as much if not more singing during his career than either Jackman or Hathaway. All three have sung in musical productions before, but I don't recall Jackman or Hathway being members of any band like Crowe is. Whether Crowe's singing is good or not is another question, but singing has been a significant part of his life.

Overall, I enjoyed it. The last twenty minutes or so were a bit too over the top for me, but it was worth seeing for the rest of it.
As a kid, I watched They Call Me Trinity probably 10 times. Never thought I'd see a movie pay tribute or make any reference to that flick.
