Individual awards are a part of sports, I get that. But if your team sucks, you shouldn't be getting trophies.
We need wins, and that's all we need. I don't give a damn about anyone on this roster over wins. I'd trade Ware, Lee and Dez if it meant more wins.

That's cool. However, I doubt he would have been able to play. He needed to get that finger fixed first.
And, getting an extra, what, 25 grand for playing.

Now your getting the picture! The pro bowl is a gimmick, a dog and pony show, a flag football game, a meaningless game that does not even provide entertainment unless people just like to see the cheerleaders.

Exactly my point. Pro bowl is the consolation prize for losers.

The Pro Bowl is an honor that figures into Hall of Fame consideration.

Snubbed by a process in which fans account for 1/3rd of the tally.
Perhaps fans should be a little less "snubbing" and kick up their contribution a bit if the thought of such injustice is too much a burden to bear.

A father agreeing to let you marry his only daughter is an honor. Getting a distinguished service medal is an honor.
Getting voted into the Pro Bowl is like being voted Prom Queen.

Yeah, because there are no better alternatives other than All Pro and Super Bowls. Still doesn't change my point. Heck, I actually like the All Pro list. They should let the pro bowl be for the fans, and remain a popularity contest and introduce a more robust All Pro system.

You are right, however, with all the bad press that Dez got this year, it would be foolish for him to be "Honored" by being voted to the pro bowl.
Hell, look at how some Cowboy fans accuse him of being a bad seed because of him learning how to grow up.
It was not the right time. It's over and done with.

Really? The HOF? Really?
Dude! The kid is just now learning how to be a pro football player, and your are projecting out 8, 9, 10 years from now or longer?

No, there is an undeniable connection between Pro Bowls and the Hall of Fame. When the HOF selection committee meets, one of the things they do is count Pro Bowls.

Biggest Pro Bowl snub of all time?
Heck... he wasn't the biggest Pro Bowl snub THIS YEAR. Whatever center in the NFC that didn't get picked because Jeff Saturday was picked as the starter was the most snubbed this year.
I read that he graded out as the 30th best center in the NFL. The Packers benched him during the season.
He made is strictly based on his reputation from his years in Indy.

Maybe currently but that's only because the people who are up for induction went to the Pro Bowl at a time when it actually had significance.
For a guy up for induction for the first time, his last possible Pro Bowl was what....2007?
Even then it was considered a joke but as much as it was considered as such it was also viewed with much higher regard than it is now.
A time will come when Pro Bowl attendance will not make a case for induction because attendance has all but lost it's meaning at this point and the only sense Pro Bowl attendance will be used as a measure of HOF worthiness is when players never go to the Pro Bowl over the span of a career because everyone goes to the Pro Bowl.
The Pro Bowl is a joke. The voting process is a joke.
I think we are already at such a time but I doubt it's all that widely acknowledge.
In the future, Pro Bowl attendance will not make a case for inclusion. Instead a lack of attendance will likely be a strong case for exclusion.

You are missing my point. I'm saying there shouldn't be a connection because the Pro Bowl is a joke, and it's a boobie prize for losers.
