That really isn't funny.

RT @KavnerDC - Late last night it seemed clear Dooley would be new WR coach. This morning it appears that move may not be final.

Didn't see that one coming, anyone know more about him?

He's a complete who was a flop here at UT. I'd sooner have Dave Campo back on staff if that tells you what I think of him.

Count me among the 1% who is interested. All I know about this guy is that he coached with Garrett in Tampa, and comes recommended by Sabin, whom Garret trusts, which tells me he is a Garrett hire all the way.

Trent Dilfer: "Tony [Romo] has greatness in him. I think when you talk to other people that really play the quarterback position, there's a few guys that really have incredible greatness in them, and Tony is one of them. I think the issue here is he needs more help from his teammates. I think they are not nearly as talented as people say they are, from 1 to 53. I'm talking about the total roster.”

It wasn't like he was coming in to a good situation. He inherited a team who had their coach leave mid-recruiting season. Scholarship players left and he had a tough time recruiting good players. At the college level you aren't going to get far without top recruits and scholarship players

Sorta sounds like you are bitter alum.

I'm getting tired of these reports that are more speculation than confirmation. Is this what twitter has done to the reporting of news?

Everyone wants to be the first to report news so there is no waiting around to verify it. They just report it like it happened.

Well when you go 8-8 every year, this is about all we have to talk about.

Just saying.
As the official head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, Jason Garrett is 16-16............"Its a Process of stacking good days"

2013 Prediction: "NO PLAYOFFS"

Actually not an alum at all...I went to Vandy. You sound exactly like he did...excuses galore. My opinion goes deeper than watching his games as I was privy to more stuff inside the program. He's a clueless tool...the recruiting was understandable, but he was never a serious hire in the first place...he was literally the only taker when Kiffin left (who was another mouth breather incidentally). I've never met a more clueless coach.

Let me help some of my fellow Cowboys fans here. I grew up in Knoxville, TN and graduated from the University. Lifelong vols and Cowboys fan. Did Derek Dooley inherit an awful situation...yes he did, but the man could not be more incompetent as a football coach. Now, maybe if he is working solely with wr he may be able to do ok but he has been hounded in the local media for his lack of communication with players and much more. One recruit on a recent visit to Tennessee was talking about the new Coach...Butch Jones...he said "All the players really like him a lot. One returning player said I've talked to coach Jones more times since I started the spring semester than I did the entire time coach Dooley was here."

Who knows....he played wr in college and coached te in the pros with Saban so maybe he will be fine, but put me in the crowd of disgruntled if they hire him. I can't seem to get away from the loser.

Derek Dooley informed me reports that he has taken Dallas job are not true. Said neither party has made a decision.
