I think Rory is gong to prove to have more staying power than Duval or Sergio. Duval didn't win a major until he was 29, and Sergio never broke through. After his meltdown in the Masters in 2011, Rory is the only player I've seen since Tiger that has shown that he can blow the field away in a major, especially at such a young age.

I don't think he'll be as consistent as Tiger was, but he should be around, and good, for a long time.

how is that different than any other top athlete in their profession?

Because he is considered one of the all time best that is reason to wish failure? OK

The only thing I wished for with the first decade of Tiger's career was to have someone emerge as a real challenger. That always makes things more interesting and exciting. Jack had Palmer and Player, then Trevino, then later Watson. Trevino alone probably cost Jack about three majors, and Player and Watson probably close to the same. Trevino was one of the most fearless players in the clutch that has ever come along, it just seemed like he had no nerves.

That generation that was competing against Tiger seemed so intimidated by him that they'd fall apart in the big tournaments. He was the greatest grinder I've ever seen, and he'd get ahead and just par them to death.

You missed the point. Its not that he is one of the all time greats.

It has to do with the over the top worship/adoration by the media. Its golf. Its like watching paint dry. We dont need 20 mins of Tiger coverage and praise to open SportsCenter when he wins.

Besides, the guy is a world class jerk. He treats people like crap. Thats common knowledge. He's just a POS for a human being.

It's golf and one of the most popular sports and a game that even the best athletes in the world love to play yet are in awe of those who can play it at the level of these professionals. Golf may not be your deal and that is fine

As for how he treats people that is a load of crap, Tiger does more to help others in need than he gets credit for.

As for problems yes he has so did Irvin I take he is also a POS?

Tiger may give money to charity, but its not a load of crap that he treats people like crap. If you think otherwise you simply dont know what you are talking about.

Gosh I did not know you knew Tiger that well. I guess you watch TMZ to get your scoop on people. For you to claim how Tiger is without knowing the man? Give me a break.

He is a jerk or treats people like crap? Really? or is it a case of an overzealous fans many whom I have seen harass players constantly bugging them for autographs to the point they can't do something as simple as go out and have a meal or spend time with family all because some loser wants to get an autograph then is upset when they are not welcomed.. Maybe the problem is not these men it is the idiots who feel as if they are entitled to harass these people.

Im not talking about fans wanting autographs.

No I have never met Tiger. However, I do quite a bit of work for people on Jupiter Island. Ive done work for other golfers who live in the area.

Tiger is a jerk to people who work for him. Some things are common knowledge to those who live and work in the area.

Like I said, you simply dont know what you're talking about.
