"Man's Best Friend"

Bad plot, bad acting and terrible special effects.

I'm a huge fan of "man in rubber suit stomps the living bejesus out of some city" and I thought the 1998 version of "Godzilla" was dreadful.

What a total miss by Roland Emmerich.

That's almost unimaginable.

I recall being shocked it didn't win Best Film. I think maybe Forrest Gump won that year.
Only $16 mil. wow

Idiocracy.

I sat and watched the whole thing on cable this past weekend. The only redeeming thing about the movie is that the stupid guy is less stupid than the future stupid guys.

1971--1977--1992--1993--1995--????

I haven't seen this one but heard before it's not very well done. Pity. It's a novel and timely story idea for a movie with plenty of potential. Maybe it was just fell into the wrong hands.

I think the producers and the money men forced Mike Judge to make a different movie than he wanted to make. The story had great potential and the beginning of the movie was funny, but overall it wasn't that good.

Definitely guilty of doing that in the really younger years.

In this case, the fact that she knew how hostile it would be (form friend's reviews) yet invited me to it on a first date. Then the fact that she so loved that movie was a gigantic, Macy's Parade balloon-sized red flag to dump that one. I'm not kidding, I even had some cuss words tossed my way from groups of women in the movie. And they all seemed to be wondering what the heck I was doing there crashng their party. lol
It was surreal. The hate was real! There were some hurting women in there, I guess.

Wow!

Granted I think JW was better at over-acting than he was at acting, but his movies generally delivered to the folks that were looking (and expecting) a "John Wayne" movie.

Oh I know that, but it doesn't mean he could act. His movies for the most part were simple plots where he pretty much could have grunted throughout and his fans would have loved it.
