I agree about the hit but I don't think he should've been suspended at all. What's he or any other hockey player to do when they check another player into the boards.

When I played my coach told us to hit'em hard so I guess what I'm saying is hockey players will shy away from checking just like football players will shy away from hitting. It's a contact sport. You're gonna get hit. I know his head hit the glass but it wasn't intentional like you said.

We might as well put skirts on these hockey and football players now.

I could honestly take or leave fights, sometimes they're fun but every now and then you hear reports of what fighting does to younger guys mentally

I don't know if this is what the op meant, but I think a lot of young players pigeon hole themselves into the role of an enforcer in order to earn their spot on a team. As a result, they might not develop into great hockey players, regardless of how much talent they have.

That's a good point too future but I was talking about how the nerves and pressure of fighting can cause mental stress for younger players who can't handle it. It's hockey, not boxing. If you have two goons willing to drop the gloves, fine, but if an important player goes down from a broken knuckle or hand from a fight, that's good for no one

This Devils and Islanders game is good. 4-4 in the third period.

I'll take the point in OT.

My Islanders are playing well.

Yes they are. They look like a up and coming team, there are not pushovers anymore.
