I watched him play on the all22 some but not a lot. He wasn't as bad as I thought initially but he's not a top flight OT at either spot. You can't get by the $8M a year or is it $11M. He's not worth that so unless there is a good reason he's not playing well enough then he'll have to address his contract.

Where that goes will determine the draft. I still think they will go after a FA OT if the price is right. If they land one then they can modify their draft needs.
Did you know there are only 5000 Snow Leopards in the wild now and they are confined to Central Asia? However, the effective global population (those likely to reproduce) is less than half that number.

deep draft at DT--I'd take the best OL in the first and maybe in the second too--Free on a good line is still overpriced but maybe good enough

I take the best players available in rounds 1 & 2... regardless of the position.

no one really goes BPA no matter what they claim. teams have several players of nearly equal value at all times

Granted in a lot of situations you will find two guys with the same grade, both being available at the time you're picking.

I think as you get past the second round you see more and more of that sort of thing and you're ability to merge "BPA" with team needs and cover both criteria.

But in rounds 1 and 2, I think you're much more likely to have a situation where player "A" is the BPA.

In the draft there are some OTs that could end up in the 4th round that could probably start as rookies depending on their injury status:
Brennan Williams
Chris Faulk

There are some later rounds OTs with high upside:
Terron Armstead
Manase Foketi

Sign a mid-level tackle to compete with Parnell...

unfortunately any quality tackle will be expensive. Proven starters never come cheap.

i think Will Svitek would be perfect. If he beats out Parnell then so be it. He started and played well in 10 games this pas year. Can be a good gameday swing guy as well. Wont be expensive, has starting experience but also doesnt have the wear and tear that many vets have.

He would be at the top of my list of Free Agent OTs. He can play LT or RT.

How much would he be worth if you thought that Parnell was going to win the job?

Will Svitek signed a 2-year, 3M contract in 2011. That would be cheap insurance if the Cowboys could sign him to a similar contract.

The only negative would be Svitek taking up a roster spot that could be occupied by a Rookie with more upside. Too bad Free Agency starts before the draft.

Loadholt has the bare minimum speed/quickness required RT. He gets by with Size/Strength and a good bit of holding.

IMO, he is a biscuit or a birthday away from being too slow.

I remember when we passed oven him in the draft. The comments make on "the ticket" at the time didn't sound like the Cowboys were very impressed at all.

This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

Isn't Brandon Albert a guy who can play guard or tackle? Plus he comes from a team that sucks. Maybe that drives down his value a little?
