[View Full Quote]The top 8 are who I consider the clear cut top QBs in the league right now, then from 9-13 I have a lot of the younger guys right in front of Romo. I think an argument could be made that Romo could be squeezed somewhere in that range, but at the same time those guys are just flat out more talented than Tony and I can't convince myself that I'd take him over any of those guys. 3 of them were recent #1 overall picks, another was the 2nd overall pick and the last is Kaepernick, who has as much ability as anyone in the league. They are all young and oozing talent. Even when you look at the group I have in the top 8, 6 of them were 1st Round picks and the other 2 are Brady and Brees (who was the top pick in the 2nd Round). You want big time talent at the QB position, you need to be willing to pay the price. Romo is a great story and a nice guy, but he'll never hold a candle to what those top guys have in arm talent.

How in the world are Stafford (the hell?), Cam, Luck, and RG3 better?

I think currently Eli is better. Eli has done what Flacco has done twice. Hard to put Flacco above Eli at this point. No telling what the future holds though.

You missed a few more that could be in that question.

You didn't say this was about who you'd take. Of course you'll take good rookies over Romo who only has 4-5 good years left. The title says ranking though.

Flacco did not need a helmet catch. Anyone crediting Eli for that play is nuts.

I think you are being harsh with Stafford -- he's put up 10,000 yards and 61 passing TDs (vs 34 Interceptions) over the past two seasons -- hardly anything to scoff at.
Add to that he is only 25 years old.

If we held a draft today of all nfl players, romo would not be taken before those guys. They are all elite talents at the QB position, and that's how I based my rankings, which QB in a vacuum I'd want for my team.
not only does Romo come up short to them in terms of raw ability but he's not exactly known for his decision making prowess either.
