When exactly did Lacy's value jump up so high? I swear a month ago I was reading he would not go higher than the late 2nd...

As a matter of fact, there were a lot of people who said that DeCastro was a top 5 player coming out but that is here nor there.
I think the thing you can't account for is the quality of talent in each draft. For example, lets say that Barker is the top rated QB in this draft, would he have been in the top 5 last year? I don't know. You can't really use that as proof of how good Warmack is IMO because the talent levels from draft to draft is fluid. Again, I have not seen anybody say that Warmack is the highest rated OG in 10 years, which is why I made the comment originally.
As far as Vacarro goes, I agree. I think that this is what I basically said in my earlier post.

I know that everyone wants to just draft O-line with the first two pick, that doesn't mean that is what we are gonna do. DeCastro fell alot last year simply because of his position. IMO DeCastro is going to end up grading out higher than Warmack because of his lateral quickness. Vaccaro plays at a more highly coveted position, he will go before Warmack. Barron flew up the boards and was taken way before DeCastro. IMO DeCastro will grade out higher than Warmack and Vaccaro will grade out higher than Barron.
If it were up to me I would take Cooper, even over Warmack.

I like Vaccaro but I don't believe he will grade out better then Barron Son. I really liked Barron.
I do agree on Cooper though. I think his upside is much better then Warmacks.

I think Warmack is the safest pick in the draft. Even if he is there at 18 they probably still go defense IMO, though I dont think safety. I could maybe see a scenario where they turn Ogletree into a safety, but I just think with the scheme change it will be a D Lineman. People that are banking on the Ratliffs, Spears, and Colemans of the world to man the 4-3 are being WAY optimistic IMO.

It's only happened twice. Once in 1966 with John Niland (1st Rd, 5th pick overall, Iowa) and once in 1981 with Howard Richardson (1st Rd, 26th pick overall, Missouri).
Now, Niland I'd have to say was a good pick, even if it was the 5th overall pick. Richardson, not so much. He started 18 games over 7 seasons.
Can it happen? Yeah, it could, it's happened before but it's never happened while Jerry was here and I just don't see it happening now.

That's exactly why we should.

I pray a team is dumb enough to draft him in the top 17 picks.
Vacarro is average at best.

I think we might be acquiring players for Monte Kiffin's 3-4 D. In that case, I think we'll look at drafting Sheldon Richardson(DT Mizzou) or Shariff Floyd(DT/DE FLA) in the first. I would rather concentrate on the real issue which is inside OL and select Warmack or J. Cooper at 18.

Jerry has to know if we go S over OL or DL in the 1st round the fan base will be even more upset than ever. Not that he cares mind you I'm just saying.
This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

They both have Sly Williams in the first. So much for my quasi-sleeper 2nd round pick.
We need wins, and that's all we need. I don't give a damn about anyone on this roster over wins. I'd trade Ware, Lee and Dez if it meant more wins.

Howard Richardson was an OT IIRC.
