so you would trade Austin and a pick for a guy who misses more time than him and puts up fewer yards and TDs?.....cant argue that logic

That is crazy talk.
Harvin is 24 years old. Seriously.

If you could get him for Austin and 3rd, you take that trade. This team needs a serious deep threat.

If we got Harvin, he'd be here a heckuva lot longer than Garrett will.

I wouldn't.

Austin is way better than people think.

Perfect chemistry in the locker room and with romo.

I will take Austin over harvin.

Probably in the minority but I am happy to be in this case.

He's a monster on KRs too which is something this team hasn't had in just about forever.

I'm not positive but I think you have to go back to when Harvin was in grade school in order for Dallas to have accumulated as many KR TDs as he has in the past 4 years.

look who their respective qbs are, Austin is a decent wr2 but he's nowhere near the talent of Harvin

Are trying to say that Christian Ponder, Joe Webb, Donovan McNabb are no Tony Romo?

Granted he had Favre but that was after Favre's miracle season and the Favre he got was the busted down QB who was just as bad as the guys above.

Austin will be 29 years old this season and his best production is behind him. Harvin will double or triple Austin's production in the next 6 years.

No it isn't the actual contract paid a large chunk during the uncapped year. Now the fines the nfl gave them would make it not as good but they don't count together.

Austin has non-guaranteed base salaries of:

2013: $6.732 million
2014: $5.5 million
2015: $6.888 million
2016: $11.38 million

If there was a trade, they would re-work the contract contemporaneously.
