I recommend researching at this site. A projector would even be something to look at.

But you need a decent screen and bulbs can cost a butt ton when you have to replace them. But you can get 80" of viewing pleasure for "cheap".

I play Fifa a lot and that game is the worst about players getting blurry.

I really don't want to mess this up.

...is the room exposed to natural daylight or is it dark?

Are you playing high speed motion games?

If there is natural daylight go with LED in general.

If you play alot of high speed sports games or racing games go with plasma.

If you game play features alot of low lit games go with LED. Plasma has deeper blacks and detail can disappear when having darkness as gray may be better for gameplay.

Best thing is to see your TV in a store set up with the games you like to play.

Just go to the store and pick out the TV in your budget that looks best to you.

Consumer report is a legit site that gives you staff and user reviews on everything and ranks them. Have to have a subscription to use it though. Might be worth the investment I use the site for everything, computers, phones, tvs, etc.

Thanks guys.

I just don't want a TV that has the "soap opera" look that so many people complain about.

Just make sure the tv can turn off "Auto Motion Plus" or whatever that brand calls it. The soap opera effects takes say the 24fps a movie is filmed in and tries to fill in the holes to 30fps making it look 'smooth'....or the soap opera effect.

I think it's also called 120 Hz mode. So just get a 60hz tv or a 120 hz that you can disable.

How far will you be playing from your tv?

I like to be around 6 ft, so a 26 or 32 does well as long as I am sitting on a gaming chair.

You will have to do the research and look into the details. I don't like to browse thru the displays because I think the store departments mess with the settings to make one tv better than the other imo.

46 is ok for 9 ft away. For 6, it will look good but you may not need it to be too big.

I may go for the 40 or 42 if the tv will sit @ eye level and a 46 if it will be elevated above your head when you sit on a chair.
