Default Cowboys, L.P. Ladouceur's agent meet

Ladouceur is scheduled to hit unrestricted free agency next month, but the Cowboys met with his agent, Gil Scott, on Thursday at the NFL scouting combine.

Ladouceur just finished a five-year deal he signed back in 2008 that included an $800,000 signing bonus.

One of those position that many take for granted until you lose your deep snapper.

Charlie Hughlett was pretty good last year and is back for another turn this year. We just have to stop playing guys over 30 with high salaries. We need a youth movement in Dallas...

You're worried about the age of your long snapper?
When asked whether Jason Garrett is the right head coach for this team: "I don't think there is anyone else that could. I think he is an unbelievable coach. We've responded to him and he has made us better football players, better people. If you watch us I think we play with a certain relentless spirit." --Sean Lee

According to the attached article, he hasn't had a bad snap since 2005. That's pretty impressive.

So you bring both guys to camp. I don't care if he is over 30 he is a long snapper and he does a very good job.

that so many who follow the Cowboys are clones of JJ. You want to hang on to older expensive players who are over their prime. You don't see New England hanging on to older players and handing out ridiculous contracts. They are even willing to let stars go like Welker before they overpay for players. We are doomed to mediocrity...

wow such short memories. Do you want to remember what happened after we let robinson go to save some cap space?

Do you want to take a chance on the game winning fieldgoal on a guy that is untested versus someone that has NEVER had a bad snap?

Do you think a long snappers AGE matters at all?

wow, just wow. Talk about not getting it.

he is one of the best deep snappers in the nfl. so lets cut him and bring in a guy who's never done it in a real game. what could possibly go wrong there

What part of bring them both to camp do you not get? Long snapper has one job and it is important. Why not ask about older kickers that are in the league why you are at it.

Dallas is not building around a long snapper but as long as he can do his job of putting the ball on the mark with zip then keep on doing it.

What kind of big contract do you think a LS is going to get? A punter, kicker or long snapper are the only positions that age is not much of a factor. This guy does his job better than any player on the team. He hasn't screwed up in years. I am all for resigning him to a reasonable contract and they shouldn't think twice about it.

Long snappers are tremendously overrated.

Until you don't have one.
