Broaddus has been talking him up all week. Other scout/blogger types making Gronk comparisons.

dont be surprised to see a 2nd rounder spent on a TE. I would HATE it but there is a history

they need to draft OL/DL in the 1st and 2nd round, any combination. Anything else, is a failure.

Stay true to the board and don't draft a position just because it's a "need". There should be some good OL/DL available at each spot, so it's likely that will happen, but that kind of mentality gets you in trouble.
There's always more to the story.

this would totally ruin the draft for me.we have a great prospect in Hannah already but barely play him,no need to draft another TE to be a career backup who will leave after 4 years without anything to show for a 2nd rd pick.

Hannah is more of an H Back. Kelce is a full blown blocking/receiving TE. I have been saying all along I would not be shocked to see a skill guy drafted high, not necessarily this guy.

Weaknesses
Suspended for an entire season for violating team rules. Only one season of production. Doesn't have blazing speed. Not a tremendously explosive athlete. Doesn't come out of his breaks all that well
OPPS NOT HAPPENING

the guy has great size and is a great blocker, wouldn't surprise me to see him as a 3rd or 4th round pick.

» This is shaping up to be an excellent draft for teams in need of a tight end. Notre Dame's Tyler Eifert (6-5 1/2, 250 pounds), Stanford's Zach Ertz (6-5, 249) and San Diego State's Gavin Escobar (6-5 7/8, 254) passed the eyeball test at the weigh-ins. They are very talented on tape and proved to have ideal size/bulk for the position. Cincinnati's Travis Kelce (6-4 7/8, 255) is a name to monitor during the week. He is by far the best blocking tight end in this draft. A good workout could net a second-round draft slot in April

02/20/2013 - 2013 NFL Combine, Workout warriors: Travis Kelce showed enough athleticism early in his career to earn time as a Wildcat quarterback before ultimately emerging as one of the more intriguing tight ends in the country for the Cincinnati Bearcats. His 6-5, 250 pound frame and surprising athleticism caught the attention of Senior Bowl scouts, who invited him to Mobile. But a minor injury forced him to give up his spot. A smooth accelerator, he could surprise and help his cause in Indianapolis. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com
The NFL Combine will be without another top prospect according to Tom Reed of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, as Cincinnati tight end Travis Kelce will be unable to work out this weekend due to an abdominal tear he sustained prior to the Senior Bowl. He joins Purdue defensive tackle Kawann Short, California wide receiver Keenan Allen, and Dee Milliner of Alabama -- all of whom will be unable to work out due to injuries.
Regarded as a second-round prospect, Kelce cemented himself as one of the draft's top tight ends with 722 yards receiving, and eight touchdowns. His 6-6 frame makes him a large target in the passing game, and he shows a high level of ability. As more teams make use of multiple tight end sets, the value for them in early rounds increases greatly. In the 2012 draft the Indianapolis Colts elected to select two of the draft's top propects in Coby Fleener and Dwayne Allen, in order to give plenty of options to rookie Andrew Luck. So too a team looking for a QB early could try to give him a reliable safety net.

If we don't sign a blocking TE in FA I can almost guarantee we draft one.

lol, you know what, I wouldn't even be surprised with a TE in the 2nd. At least Kelce is a good one. Maybe they are just doing their research in case he slips into the 3rd.
We need wins, and that's all we need. I don't give a damn about anyone on this roster over wins. I'd trade Ware, Lee and Dez if it meant more wins.

Or, you know, coaches and scouts could actually sit down and have a talk with this kid and get a real judge of what type of person and teammate he is. Oh wait....they actually did that.
Seriously, can we drop the "he's off the board" crap with every player who has a slip up in their lives? Its getting old. UC coaches have nothing but good things to say about him despite the suspension and said he grew and learned from it. He was on the practice field everyday during the suspension helping the team by being on the practice squad. You can't just lump every player into 1 category. Each player has to be taken on case by case basis....unless we are talking about an extreme case.
With all that said.....I don't want Kelce or any other TE that early.

What is the point of drafting another TE so high when we know this regime has no clue how to use anyone other than the starter??
