Cullen Jenkins Released
May as well make a thread about it since you know we're going to talk about it either way.

Eric Edholm @Eric_Edholm
Eagles release DE-DR Cullen Jenkins. Not stunning. Could see a return to GB, seemed like he regretted leaving. Otherwise, maybe Saints?
Evan Silva @evansilva
Teams that showed interest in Cullen Jenkins in 2011 free agency: #Redskins, #Broncos, #Cowboys. #Bears & #Saints were also rumored.
Dan Graziano @espn_nfceast
I think so, yes. RT @Koch_N: @espn_nfceast would Jenkins be a fit in Dallas depending on how Spencer talks go?
Thank you to all donated to the Jason Witten Camp drive!

He seems like he would be a decent role player somewhere.
He is 32 and started all 16 games in both 2011 and 2012 for the Eagles.
Scouts Inc. Scouting Report:
Jenkins had an excellent season in his first year in Philadelphia in 2011. He is a short, powerfully built interior defender with excellent quickness to penetrate gaps. He plays with good pad level and can anchor well defending the run. He can push the pocket and flashes effective counter moves as a pass-rusher. Jenkins, an eight-year veteran, brings experience and playmaking ability to the Eagles defensive line.

Where do all aging vets go to retire?
See ya in Washington next year, Cullen.
1. Brandon Magee will beat out Ernie Sims for the backup WILL/MO roster spot.
2. Ron Leary will start at right guard over Bernadeau.
3. Joseph Randle, Terrance Williams and Gavin Escobar will have more combined TD's than DeMarco Murray, Miles Austin and Jason Witten.
4. Bruce Carter makes the Pro Bowl.
5. The starting OL will be Smith-Livings-Frederick-Leary-Free

He didn't exactly played inspired ball last year. I don't see the need to pay for someone like him anyway. I'd roll the dice on Crawford and Hatcher and ???? filling that roll.
Did you know there are only 5000 Snow Leopards in the wild now and they are confined to Central Asia? However, the effective global population (those likely to reproduce) is less than half that number.

Philly said the same thing when we resigned Doug free after they sniffed around him.

Green Bay admitted they made a mistake letting him go. I bet they are on the phone right now with him begging him to come back.

I don't think he was as good in a 4-3 as he was in a 3-4. One of the reasons I wouldnt want him, not to mention being on the wrong side of 30. Mike Patterson on the other hand is someone I would consider for depth as a 1 technique dependant on his phsyical condition

Was he the starting NT in Green Bay's 3-4 or a DE?

Jenkins was better than any Cowboys DL the last 2 seasons. Not even close. But Cowboys probably can't afford him anyway.
Jerry and Stephen have stated a few times that they will not be big players in FA this offseason.

I think Jenkins as a backup/depth would be OK (if he's that cheap). Lack of depth has hurt Dallas and we know how back it was at the interior Dline spot(s).
They also cut Mike Patterson. Again, good for depth IMO unless they're somebody cheaper out there
