Skin is not well-liked on the Mavs broadcasts by the viewers. That's why you see less and less of him on there.
please dont post just silly things.

the espn ratings during the weekdays are about 5 times anything the ticket gets on weekends.

weekend sports shows are barely a blip on the radar.
only the nfl draft. cowboys pre-post game shows and actual game itself garner any ratings.

That's not the point.

One stand in for Norm Hitzges will get more listeners than six months of weekday shows on ESPN. That's how Bob Sturm did it. Guys like Mark Followill and Corby Davidson also made their way through the background roles first.

ESPN and The Fan is the proverbial "tree falling in the forest" scenario.

I'm a big fan of Ben and Skin, they brought something different to sports radio and were hilarious. Good guests, good loyal following especially the younger listeners. I'd usually go from Ben/Skin, to GAC, to G-bag nation. That's just me but I've never heard the ticket. Hopefully they land somewhere else.

Any thoughts of minimum wage is hilariously wrong.

Ben and Skin are still learning this business but have been doing quite well. They actually have friends at Ticket who have already stated they'd land on their feet.

The Ticket does very well in its main demographic but this thought they lap the field with sports radio is silly.

They were at a 2.4 market share for January. CBS Radio(The fan) was at 2.0, ESPN103.3 was at 1.6

Amongst all DFW stations they finished 18th, 20th and 22nd.

Keep in mind while reading the DMN stuff they have some relationship with the Ticket and spew the rosiest nonsense possible their way.

Those market share numbers are irrelevant. What are the men 25-54 ratings? That is where they are judged.

Plus, the Ticket gets a massive internet following across the country. HUGE.

That not at all true.
Good grief, try using basic math.

BaDD Radio is beating up on Ben and Skin for sure. Heck I like BaDD radio better. In fact it is the only show on the Ticket I can stand daily.

But a mere 3 days of Ben and Skin equals the Ticket counterpart not any 6 months crap.

Sturm moved here and took a job as a HOST. Not some glorified fill-in.
Same with Dan by the way.

Followill was an extra... and he left to move on to greater pastures BY FAR.

Corby was the producer and yuck-monkey for Chris Arnold. He was a hanger on who got promoted. But he's about the one guy your example plays too. The rest of these ticket hangers on have left to take jobs elsewhere ... I wonder why?

ESPN is putting it's own slant on this.

Ben and Skin's contract was up and they were offered more elsewhere is my guess..and ESPN did not match the offer.

I know this, I'll never listen to Cowherd. Don't know how anyone can stand that guy.
I used to hate Colin. Now I can't seem to turn the channel. It's either The Dan Patrick Show or The Herd. Love em both. Colin tells it like it is.

He has the most annoying voice that I've ever heard.

Cowherd actually ties to be empirical in his approach. He is more nasally than most radio personalities but talking through you sinuses is what clear channel goes for.

I cannot really seem to care much about AM radio where slackjaw humor and emotional appeal is what is most important.

Ehhh...who cares honestly. It's not a big loss with any of them. They were ok but nothing that made feel like they were destination radio listening.

Their voices are too similar. I could barely tell them apart.

2000-2004 Hardline is still the best in DFW Sports Radio history

I don't mind Cowherd. I feel like he makes some valid points he's just a bit of a doosh.
