Definitely a flame out, but Durant wasn't the problem in the WCF. He's going to get his, and the Spurs are content to let the other team's stars do that, while limiting the other players. The problem was when Serge Ibaka went 15 for 15 in one game, James Harden morphed into a modern day Larry Bird, and the refs started giving every whistle imaginable to the Thunder in game 6. It was the perfect storm.
OKC is great, and Martin is a good player, but they're really going to miss Harden in the playoffs. Harden went into full on FU mode, and they don't have that anymore.
I'm not calling the Spurs over OKC, I'm just saying everything fell right for OKC last year, and they're not the same this year.

I don't disagree on the Heat being about unbeatable. Lebron is playing at a near unbeatable level.
An another note, how much fun will it be to watch Kawhi on KD in the coming years?

what an absolute debacle that 2nd half was on Friday night.....It was pathetic. Portland couldn't miss (and a lot of their shots were defended well)...and the Spurs couldnt buy a basket, even when wide open.
Tonight was a great rebound game. They really took it to the Thunder from midway through the 2nd quarter. It was even sweeter being able to do it without Parker.
I will say, anytime I watch the Thunder, it is frustrating. I am so sick of the love they get from the refs. Of course that team shoots a lot of FTs, the refs call you for everything when you play them....while turning a blind eye when the Thunder commit the same type of fouls. Ibaka and Collison are allowed to consistently go over the back with no call. Westbrook and Durant are allowed to pushoff to get space, but you cannot even graze either of them without a whistle. Ibaka also gets away with a lot of goaltendings.
BTW, I am not just talking about when they play the Spurs, I am talking across the board. It makes me want to puke to watch how the league coddles them. I hate Kobe Bryant and the Lakers, but at least Kobe earns his FT trips. Paul Pierce earns his FT trips. Westbrook and Durant more than half of their FT trips giftwrapped by the league.
I cannot wait for 2014, when we get to say good riddance to David Stern.

Nice win after an ugly home stand, I hear tony might come back sooner than originally prognosticated, I hope so, hopefully we can stay ahead of OKC while he is out. Btw, Kawhi Leonard is about this life!

i missed the game, but i listened to it on the radio, at least the end of it anyway..........great win against those POS Mavs.....anytime we can beat the Mavs or Lakers, it is a great win in my book.
One thing did upset me and send me off into quite a few expletives during my drive.....Duncan had 28 pts and 19 rebounds with over 3 minutes left in the game.......he never touched the ball on offense again, at least according to the radio broadcast. I found this to be ridiculous.....run the ball through Timmy tonight, especially late, since he was killing the Mavs.....it is so frustrating, I swear.
Thankfully Carter missed that last shot, or else it would be Juck and the rest of the Mavs faithful donning the smiles.

It was an ugly win, and it was stupid that Duncan didn't get any plays run for him late. But at the same time Kawhi missed 2 open 3s and green 1 open 3 late that should have put the game away, so it's not like the offense wasn't working, just couldn't hit the open shot. I'll take the win vs one of our biggest rivals. It is disappointing tho that we are currently playing our worst basketball of the season this late into it. Luckily there are two factors working in our favor going forward, there is still over a month to go to turn it around, and it's happened entirely with TP out. They mentioned today what I have been saying all along, TP is healing fast like he normally does and is most likely going to return within a week instead of 2

what an embarrassing suckfest that was tonight.......
it was like they were still out hunting for eggs instead of playing basketball. they got schooled at home by the backups.....
props to the Heat, they obviously took this game a lot more seriously than the Spurs.

meh, i think it was exactly like what happened when the spurs played in miami. difference was the heat had an all star to close the door on the bummed out spurs. I dont take much from this game or the one earlier, its going to be a great series if it happens.
only thing it does is that it locks up home court for the heat in the finals, but its not like miami is golden state or boston! hopefully we can stay above the thunder in the standings after we play them in the next few days. i think if we are still in first after that game, we should be able to get the 1 seed, we only have to go to denver after that, all the other games are very winnable

No team in west has a chance against the allstars. I still think Spurs make it to finals though. Every west team will get sweeped by the cHeat however. They ruined the NBA. Thanks Stern.I smell a possibility of 3 peat as well.

While it will be difficult, I think the spurs and grizzle could beat them, key work being could. The nuggets would at least make it difficult in the games in Denver. The clippers and thunder would likely get swept tho. But ya, the heat will most likely be lifting the trophy. It's not because its a super team aspect, I still don't think that works. It works in this instance because one of them is lebron james

Well, tonight probably cost us the one seed, which really doesn't matter, but what does is that we are banged up and playing like crap. Hopefully come the second round we will be healthy and starting to jell again, we should be ok in the first round, so long as we stay at the 2

Im not a Spurs fan by no means but PLEASE crush the Fakers in the first round. Im sooo sick of the David Stern NBA wanting his cash cow in the playoffs. They play no defense at all and the whole team is carried by Kobe being a ballhog. I never understand why teams don't double him constantly. Make someone else win the game. Pop will take him out as much as possible. I cant stand seeing them in the playoffs.

Diaw and Manu are most likely out the first round and the Denver game was horrid.
The Spurs have built their offense around Parker and Manu getting into the lane and kicking out so just double Parker and watch the Spurs start clanking threes because their shooters are not shooting well. Then add in the injuries and them missing games and they are struggling.
Joseph plays really good defense but he can not penetrate like the other two can.
Da Colo did the best job and probing the paint last night he just needs to start shooting some of those to keep the defense honest but he was the best ball handler last night yet he still makes some mistakes.
Why Pop puts Blair in he is so frustrating to watch reminds me of Malik Rose very inconsistent letting the open man go to the hoop for that alley opp was terrible and guys just shot over him. I wish Pop would just run Baynes out there hell at least he alter some shots and got a block.
Rebounding is becoming an issue
Guys are not making shots and Booner has proven my rant several years ago when they extended him I blew up on several message boards about how Bufford should be fired for that stupidity. (Yes I still believe that I think the real brains left in Presti) well to be fair I went into full nuclear melt down because they signed RJ and Booner to those stupid contracts.

I'd love to play the lakers in the playoffs, everyone other idiot analyst on TV keeps saying they will lose to the lakers in the playoffs, off, I'd love to see magic's reaction after the spurs destroy them, freaking homer! Unfortunately the spurs will prob be the 2 seed, we don't exactly have an easy schedule left, while the thunder's is incredibly easy. What I'm hoping is the lakers needing that game vs the spurs to stay in the hunt, and us to officially end their season b4 the playoffs, I'd love that almost as much!

There is one thing that all the injuries have done, the spurs are playing through Timmy a lot more, and if TP isn't 100% and Manu isn't back to some capacity by the second round, we will need to change it up to survive, run things through Timmy, and just make it ugly. Might not work vs the grizzle, but it could vs the clips or nuggets.
