I am sure the thoughts and prayers of the Cowboys players and we fans are with Sean, his family and the Redskin nation in this time of grief. We fans yours and ours share a special bond. A mutual respect and yes a warm hatred.
That's as it should be. In a way we are like two competing brothers always trying to out do the other. Like the Manning's. We're Payton and you're Eli.
Wait. Bad analogy.

During times of tragedy, good people tend to reach out to those who are hurting to comfort them, regardless of their adversarial behaviors in the past and I'm sure the Redskins fans would do same as many of the Cowboys fans has done in last few days if an unfortunate situation arises in Cowboys organization.
This is a time to honor and pay tribute to a very talented young man who was on his way to being a better human being and that is what good people do, it's a right thing to do.

to you and all the Redskin fans.
This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

All fans should bond at a time like this.
I remember back in April, when the tragedy at VA tech happened. I have never seen so many come together. College's and students from around the country, hell even other countries came together, that was a great thing to see.
The NFL and the players will all be thinking of 21 for a long time, and as much as I hate the Skins, they'll be my second most favorite team for the rest of the year. This will either break them or bond them, I think the latter.
Forgive me for saying this.......GO SKINS!

Classy message Diesel....
This transcends football. The fact other sites and their "fans" can't see that is............disappointing, but we've got your back. Hope time will heal all your wounds and also see the scumbag(s) who did this to the best safety in the game caught ASAP.

I came here as a representative of CPNd to formally throw out thanks to your community and all of Cowboyland, but I see several from other haunts have already beaten me to the punch.
I'm a little slow on the uptake on this one, I still am stunned by the news. Normally I tend to have a lot to say about just about any topic especially NFC East related, but words still fail me here. I'm just so blown away by both the news and the subsequent outpouring of sympathy that mere words fail me.
So from the very bottom of my heart to all of those who have kept things respectful (with very little exception from only the folks one would expect it from) I would like to send out grateful thanks.
Yesterday was my birthday and it was the worst one I've ever had, it was awful hard to feel celebratory when I awoke to this news. Some might call that silly over a person I've never even met but the reality is I felt like I lost a buddy. Right now and probably for some time I couldn't care less if we even win another game this year. It all seems so trivial and meaningless. But thanks anyways, the NFL fans are amazing people.

You're very welcome CT. Although I'm new to the board, I have been mourning this loss right along with you from the very moment when I woke up yesterday to check this story on NFL.com. Much love from the Cowboys Nation.

I'm shocked at how much respect you guys have paid to Taylor's memory. Forgive me for thinking that it would be the opposite around here. The cowboy fans of this board have earned my respect.

There always has been that..since the first time the teams met in 1960.
Funny thing.....John Facenda's "The Voice of God" voice put it best when the Redskins were trying rally in Super Bowl VII vs. the Dolphins in the 4th quarter..."Helmet askew, belly protuding, socks sagging around his ankles, Kilmer was once again, spiritual leader of the Redskins". Compare that with the 70's. "J.R. Ewing" perfectly coiffed Cowboys of the late 70's that was first dubbed as "America's Team" by the media. Ironically enough, both teams were led by defensive geniuses. Coach Landry (who invented the 4-3 defense) and Coach Allen, who never had a losing season, in the NFL, the USFL and college.
And after all of the hell and yelling and cursing and the way that I even thought the 70's Cowboys were Soviet agents who also stole candy from babies, also step up to be some of the greatest fans of all time. (I am kidding about the candy part)
Thanks Cowboys fans. Without you, there is no love/hate rivalry and no chance to see the class you have shown the last two days.
Nos
P.S. I thought, in spite of everything, I would give Skins and Boys fans something to chuckle at.

The thing with us Cowboys fans and you Skins fans reminds me a lot of me and my late, little brother Ron... we were about 18 months apart in age, and almost from the start, were locked in serious, semi-deadly sibling rivalry... I mean, it got quite violent between us at times, we each broke the others' bones...
But let some outsider come after one of us, and he'd best be ready to take on both of us... even if we'd just finished bloodying each other up moments before, we stood united against anybody and everybody else...
You guys are our little brothers in our hearts, you might annoy the p*ss out of us a good bit of the time, but you're still family... in matters like this Sean Taylor tragedy, what hurts you hurts us...
We'll be back slappin' y'all around in no time, but for now we stand beside you... indeed, those of us who haven't been able to do the right thing these last few days have found themselves banned from the board... I won't go as far as some others have, and say "today, we are all Redskins fans", but I do kinda want to see the Skins put up a W for Sean this weekend...
I think I speak for the vast majority of this board when I say if anything we've said or done these last few days has made this hurt easier for y'all to bear, we're glad...
Smarter than the av-er-age bear...
