I just don't think we need to draft a super stud RB to share carries with the Barbarian when we could find someone to fill that role just as competently in rounds 2 or 3.
Trust me, I won't be complaining if we nab Mendenhall or Stewart in the first round. I'm just proposing an alternative scenario for the sake of discussion.

By the end of the year, one of them will be our starting third CB and both will see playing time in the nickel and in the event of injuries. If the DB class sucks the next two years and we continue to draft low, we'll be happy we grabbed two top flight shut-down types when we had the opportunity.

I totally agree. That why I drafted Thomas and Savage both of whom possess game-breaking speed. I like Chris Johnson, too, but I think end of first may be too high and end of second too low.

I disagree i think the better the RB the better it is for our team as a whole. Not only is the running back that we draft going to be the replacement for JJ but very the replacement for MB3. If Barber carries go up when can expect the chance of injury to go up also. That why i feel we get 2 RB's in the first day,

we won't draft to RB's on the first day even if this year did include the 3rd Rd.
A RB in the 1st or 2nd and maybe another one in the 4th, 5th, or 6th.

Right. Super Stud = McFadden. While I think Medenhall/Stewart would be great for us, they aren't super studs. And waiting late to get a RB is risky. If we need the position and there is a guy there worth the pick, you take him. What happens if there is a run of RBs right before we pick in rd 2 and we miss out?

Even if we passed on the RBs and went WR/CB with the two #1s, I'd be content. IMO, 2 CBs is overkill.

Well I would hope at the start of the season one would be the #3 CB. And there are good CBs available every year. No matter where we pick in rd 1, we can always grab one S.Brown was a 2nd in 02', R.Mathis was a 2nd in 03', Nathan Vasher was a 4th in 04' (cover 2 guy so I'll give you a slight pass). All these guys have made Pro-Bowls and are arguably the best CB from their class.

Talib is just not fast enough for the NFL. At least not for what we need.
In todays NFL, when you are looking at 3 WR sets almost half the time, you basically need 3 starting CBs. We have 2. Reeves is ok but that is all. The young guys have not shown enough to count on to even replace reeves at this point. Taking 2 in the first rd would actually make sense. I would go with Porter and Mckelvin, or maybe Cason.

where do you get this from ????
Theres normally a big drop from a team's number 1 CB to there number 2 CB.
The only team with a 2 really good corners is Ravens you could make a case for GB but consider how AL Harris looked against us i doubt it and maybe the Broncos but thats a reach also.

By first day I'm assuming you mean Day 1 of the draft as in the 1st and 2nd rd. Day 2 of the draft would consist of the 3rd through 7th rounds. So, I'm not disagreeing with you that we may draft 2 Rb's, but we will not draft a RB in the 1st Rd and another one in the 2nd Rd; that would be the 1st day.

I've had a number of classes with Robbie Krutilla since we have the same major. He's a pretty nice guy, and he's absolutely huge. Haven't seen him play a whole lot, but from what I have heard is that he's one of the best lineman in the MAC.

Be sure to tell him that I have him going to Cowboys. He should be elated.

the 4th round was never the 1st day, at least it hasn't been that way since I can remember
I don't know if the proposal went through, but this year they put in a proposal where they wanted to shorten the 1st day to 2 rounds, and a 10 minute time limit instead of 15 for the 1st round, and the 2nd round would be 7 minutes or something like that, and so on
