Default Nors Mock (early)

1) Xavier Adibi ILB Virginia
Wade gets HIS ILB!!!!!!!!!!! 3-4 experience in pro set defense

1) Ray Rice RB -
just have a hunch that this kid can play on Sundays and push MB3 and get us valuable yardage and carry JJ's load with him gone. Emmit like and can hit the whole with power.

2) Dominique Rogers Cromartie CB
Great Name! Great size speed and athleticism. Player already zooming up the board. Tribble from BC is my Plan B. Also like the CB from Purdue a lot but more in 3rd to 4th range.

3)Donnie Early - WR Houston
Quicks! We have the big and slow WR on team, now we need to find a mini TG

4) Josh Johnson QB
Perfect QB in that he will need 2 to 3years to develop and by then we will know if Romo can handle a big game better.

5) Donald Thomas - OG Uconn
He is Legend in Uconn Weight Room. Players very strong and can move

6) Kendall Langford, DE Hampton
I keep stock piling the big guys

7) Returner/WR Dexter Jackson
Another quick type WR- turned heads at post season bowl. Troy Brown?

UDFA
Ricky Santos - let him fight for a Roster spot - another talented small school productive QB, may like Romo go undrafted.

Bobbie Williams - FS

Love the R.Rice pick. He's my favorite player in the entire draft (including DMac). Cromartie is a sleeper who may crawl up towards the top of rd2 as we near the draft, but if he's there, and we haven't addressed the position, then I'm all for it (that is unless Cason is available).

edit: Yeah, I love the R.Rice pick, but he's not a 1st rd RB. If we want him, we can trade #28 for a 2nd & 4th and pick him up in the 2nd. 4th rd picks aren't as valued as they've been in previous drafts, since the 1st day ends after the 2nd round now.

dont like the 1st round picks at all. and doubtful kendall langford will last until the 6th round and he's not from troy, hes from hampton.

ray rice over mendenhall? thats out there. i like the way ice runs, but i dont like it because of whos already in dallas. and he woldnt be the BPA at that point either.

I understand your feelings about R.Rice. He's not as good a complement to MBIII as fast slashing RBs like DMac, Chris Johnson, or Felix Jones, but he is the best true RB in this draft. He's not going to wow anyone with his speed, even though he's faster than Emmitt, but he's a complete RB. If MBIII ever went down, I'd want R.Rice carrying the load for me more than any other RB in this draft (including DMac). As far as Mendenhall is concerned. He will be chosen by some team in the 1st rd, and before R.Rice, but he's not better. I stated in previous threads that Mendenhall is going to be a run into the pile runner just like JJ, because he lacks lateral agility. This was confirmed by Drew Boylhart (thehuddlereport.com):

Mendenhall - "Too me he has a lot of question marks for the next level. I don't see the vision or lateral agility in the hole that I like to see from a 1st round back. I also see a lack of smarts and wonder if this kid can handle the NFL. I'm not convinced that he is interested in blocking and I'm not too sure about his hands. To tell you the truth, before I have profiled him, I think he is very overrated at this stage. But I will go back to the film to make sure."

Kendall Langford, 2008 NFL Draft Prospect
Defensive End
6’ 6” 294 lbs.
speed: 4.95
Hampton
Senior

Last year I wrote an article in my Small School NFL Draft Prospects Blog about Hampton being a Small School Football Factory for the NFL Draft and this season we have another Hampton Prospect in the spotlight. Langford might be the best small school (Football Championship Series, formerly known as 1AA) prospect in the nation. His stats are impressive: Entering his senior season he has played in 36 games with 27 starts and recorded 164 total tackles, 42.5 tackles for loss, and 18.5 sacks. He reminds me of The Dallas Cowboy’s Jason Hatcher (6’6” 290 lbs) who was also from a small school (Grambling), Hatcher was drafted in the 3rd round and that is an early projected round for Langford.

Langford is a unanimous Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) Preseason All-American and the only player from the three-time defending Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) champion Pirates to be awarded unanimous preseason honors. Last year as a junior he lead all Hampton defensive linemen in tackles with 55 and was ranked second in the league with 15.5 tackles for loss and third in quarterback sacks with eight. This season (2007) Kendall Langford will become the first Hampton defensive lineman to be named first team all-conference three years in a row since Isaac Readon did it from 1983 to 1985.

Langford will be a hotly sought after prospect in the 2008 NFL Draft because his size, athletic ability and versatility. He could bulk up a little and play defensive tackle, similar to how the Rams are using 2007 first round NFL Draft pick Adam Carricker, who has almost identical size. He could of course be played at his natural defensive end position, but I wouldn’t completely rule out the possibility of him trimming down and playing outside linebacker for a team utilizing the 34 defense. The Cowboys’ Greg Ellis made a similar transaction.

No matter how or where he is played, he has immense NFL potential. Langford is very aggressive; he will never be labeled as a pile inspector. He plays football with a very high motor and when you see him move you would never believe he is only a biscuit away from 300 pounds. He has quick feet like a linebacker, plays with his head up and quickly finds the ball and diagnosis the play. Langford will have to fight the small school pedigree and he will have to learn a wider assortment of pass rushing moves. His body is already NFL ready, but he won’t be able to bull rush or run around the tackles in the NFL, he will have to learn how to use his hands better. As we get closer to the Scouting Combine and the NFL Draft, Kendall Langford will a name whispered by all the NFL Scouts

He's more of an OLB to me, even though he has played ILB. Give me Beau Bell in round 2 (I may be biased) since I didn't get David Harris last year.

Quite honestly Norsey I could see an offensive tackle drafted in round one before we'd take another linebacker.

I like this kid too. Isn't there talk of him maybe playing safety though? (which I wouldn't mind).
