Senior Bowl Thoughts

I'm checking out the Senior Bowl practices and a player I thought could fall to the Cowboys is shooting up the charts. How about this stat from NFL.com: Typically the Senior Bowl will produce close to 50 percent of the first-round selections and about 70 percent of the second and third rounds combined.

Leodis McKelvin of Troy is a kid I like.

He is playing some sharp ball at the corner spot. He can also help in the return game.

McKelvin played in the Sun Belt conference, but it's not a big deal. We have seen DeMarcus Ware make the step from Troy to the NFL with no problem. The Cowboys need a to draft a corner in the first round.

Jordy Nelson of Kansas State is doing well at the wide receiver spot. He looks like a #2 receiver. I can see him being a first day selection.

Defensive lineman Sedrick Ellis of USC is probably the best player I've seen at the practice.

The quarterbacks don't do much for me. The Cowboys could use a draft pick on a kid to develop. If a player like John David Booty (USC) were available in the 4th round they may want to pull the trigger at Valley Ranch.

Cowboys Draft - A Running Back I Like

I will find and bring you some of the best talent I think the Cowboys should take a hard look at for this upcoming NFL Draft.

I'm big on East Carolina running back Chris Johnson. This kid ripped it up in his bowl game, the Hawaii Bowl.

ECU, the same school that produced Jacksonville Jags quarterback David Garrard, won that bowl game against Boise State with 223 yards of rushing from Johnson. He finished with 408 all-purpose yards in the game.

The Cowboys could use him to be a backup to Marion Barber III. Johnson had 36 kick returns for over one thousand yards and a touchdown. Gotta like that.

Johnson is 5-11 and 195 pounds. USA Today profiled him before the Senior Bowl

The more I see Mckelvin. The more I think Bill Belichick is gonna take this kid at 7.

That #7 pick is very interesting to see what the Pats will do. Kiper had Talib going 7th to them, at first I was shocked but then realized that he will get the best player for their schemes. Something Bellichek has done rather well.

I would be happy to get Chris Johnson hes got blazing speed and moves and can do it all out of the backfield. The combine and senior bowl always seem to boost the stock of these athletes coming from smaller schools. Johnson has really impressed this week at teh senior bowl cant wait later for the game.

Except block. He also disappears at times. But he would be steal with our 2nd rounder.
