Dad, please stop killing people...
Bin Laden urged by his son to end explosions
www.chinaview.cn
AIRO, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- Al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden was urged by his son to stop explosions as they do no good for anyone, the Egyptian MENA news agency reported on Tuesday.
The 26-year-old Omar bin Laden made the remarks in an interview with an Egyptian TV program broadcast on Monday, the report said.
The killing of civilians contradicts religion, democracy and humanity, Omar was quoted by MENA as saying in the first Arabic television channel interview in Cairo.
Asserting his intention to be an ambassador for peace, Omar also called on his father to try to stop using bombs and weapons and to find another way to reach his goals.
Omar said he has no contacts with his father and has not heard from Osama bin Laden since he left his father in Afghanistan in 2000.
Omar's British wife Jane Felix-Brown, who has a new name of Zaina Alsabah, also appeared on the TV show. The two got married last year.
Omar denied that Felix-Brown is a Jewish, saying that her father, an Arab Muslim, immigrated to Britain in 1946 and married there a British Christian woman.
Trying to be advocates, the couple were reportedly planning a horse race across North Africa to draw attention to the cause of peace.

a lot of us have wondered why the muslem community didn't do more to step up and vocalize against the terrorists. interesting to see his son do it now.

I would imagine some muslims are afraid. You go against the extremes and chances are you or your family wind up dead.

I think it's a fraud. People are getting killed for a lot less, scholars for writing the truth, goofy cartoonists and film makers; yet this guy is making the circuit like a celebrity and not one threat to lop his head off.

Good for Omar Bin Laden. No sarcasm either. I mean exactly that. Here's hoping more have the courage to stand up to the extremists.

There has been virtually no Muslim leaders anywhere that have taken public and strong positions against the fanatics. Especially here in the US. And then they wonder why people blame them as well.
