Did you not just read a mock draft where Matt Ryan, a consensus top 10 pick is M.I.A?
And felix jones, a consensus bottom first round choice is top 10?
come on now, be realistic. Tell me you have seen an actual draft and say you think this is EVEN close?

You guys can be happy all u want, but us drafting LB's in the first round for 3 straight years is bordering Lions WR status.

I admit, I would be ecstatic if a player of Keith Rivers caliber fell to us at 22. I can't really see him as an ILB though. That's the only flaw. I'm just saying he is good enough for that pick. This draft hasn't got a prayer of happening as this guy did it. I'll be shocked if Rivers is out of the top 10.

I have seen many many drafts and think this (or any other mock done in February) is a joke because so much can, and usually will, change between now and the draft.
This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

Okay that is fine, as long as you didnt think this is likely Im cool with it.
No way does F.Jones go top 10( no matter what he runs) and no way does M.Ryan go undrafted in the first while Brohm does.

Yeah I like Keith Rivers myself... I don't like the 28th pick however, Jackson isn't the answer.

BPA THAT MAKES SENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If Matt Ryan fell to # 22 we take him for value???
Bull!
If Rivers falls to us @ 22, a trade down is the ONLY thing that makes sense for this 4-3 WILL LB.

I just love hyperbol****!
he could very well play RILB in Wade's 3-4, better in coverage than Burnett and can take on blocks better

only cuz dude isn't going to be there
and being a draftnik, you should know that stating absolutes at this stage in time is pointless

And you should know, we won't draft a SS in the first, or a TE, or a QB or a 4-3 WILL LB.
If there is value there(and there certainly would be if Rivers slipped to #22) a trade down makes a heck of a lot more sense than taking a guy that isn't really needed(as you say, we have KB who we like). Considering the value that WILL BE THERE at CB, RB and WR, which in 50 different ways makes more sense than a 4-3 WLB, we'll be taking a REAL NEED. Argue to your hearts content, but you are wrong and the War Room at VR would tell you that if you had access and asked.

I won't lie.. I have thrown my remote two years in a row in the first 3 hours of the draft.. well, maybe 3 1/2 or so. I guess I just wanted a flashy kind of skill player.
'I don't have an answer for it.' - Wade Phillips when asked about his teams losing performance vs. the St. Louis Rams on 10/19/2008.

Yet again, someone makes a claim about a guy that has never played a NFL down to a guy that just had one of the best rookie year, of any player, in some time.
A little ridiculous.
We need wins, and that's all we need. I don't give a damn about anyone on this roster over wins. I'd trade Ware, Lee and Dez if it meant more wins.

It is a little ridiculous, Rivers is far superior to Willis. Probably the next Ray Lewis.
