Default WR I want to draft in 2009

Assuming we cannot trade for a veteran reciever and we have no shot at Michael Crabtree (either he's a top pick or doesn't declare), I wouldn't mind us drafting Pat White, the QB from WVU. By next season, we'll have some idea of what we have in Stanback. Glenn is almost certain to be gone after this season and we can probably afford another project. I actually wouldn't mind taking another WR in the first (assuming Isiah Stanback doesn't show much) and a guy like him in rd 3 or 4 where we have multiple picks. Barring the unforeseen acquisition of a vet WR, I'd like our recieving corps to look like this in 09'.

Terrell Owens
Isiah Stanback (one can hope)
Patrick Crayton
Sam Hurd
Pat White
Danny Amendola

Just kill me now if our answer next year is to draft another QB to WR conversion.
We need wins, and that's all we need. I don't give a damn about anyone on this roster over wins. I'd trade Ware, Lee and Dez if it meant more wins.

This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

Does White see himself as a QB?

What Pat White sees himself as doesn't even matter. We're not going to try and replace Glenn, and possibly TO, with another QB to WR conversion situation.

I think the kid from Mizzu is going to be a big time player (Macklin) and Crabtree would be who I would want.

Id be a bit hesitant about White. At the moment, he's another QB with skill, but "Jack of all trades, master of none" label. Good College player without one extremely skilled area of his game.

Demetrius Byrd

Sure I'm biased.... but he's an incredible athlete.
