Default If Dallas Loses Monday Night

Do you think Parcells will start looking to 2005 or not?

Remaining home games:
Chicago
New Orleans
Washington

Road games:
Baltimore
Seattle
Philadelphia
NY Giants

Dallas should win one or two more home games this year, I would be amazed if they won all three.

Road games they should not win another one, but they probably will upset somebody and if not an upset they could probably beat NY Giants if they have a wild card already sealed up on the last week of play.

Keep in mind I am basing this on a possible loss to Philly tomorrow night. A victory there on National TV could give Dallas some momentum and confidence, but I seriously doubt they will win.

So given a loss tomorrow night, I think best case scenario is 7-9. Most likely I would go with 6-10.

Back to my original question, will BP start looking to 2005 by playing Drew Henson?

How many of you will be in favor of starting Drew if Dallas loses Monday night?

To me this year is total waste unless we establish wether we have a QB of the future and RB of the future.

Dallas is looking at possibly having two top 10 picks, but not having a clue if they need to invest in a QB or RB which could spell disaster in my opinion.

Even if we win...what's the difference?

Are we really planning on going into next season with a 42 year old QB at the helm...an Eddie George who is one more year declined....the same with Keyshawn..and Richie Anderson...

We STILL need to find out who we have behind these guys...starting with Henson...EVEN IF we win.

Again, unless 2005 was always the target season, I have no CLUE what Parcells was doing this year..

Theo Epstein, the Red Sox GM said that he is not standing pat...that he will in fact, cut loose some guys who were an integral part of their championship because a team has to move on...

Here we are, with fossils all over the roster and not playing the young guys because we haven't been officially eliminated.

And I made a point in another thread....It doesn't do Henson a whole lot of good to put him into the line up after the team is out of the playoff run, when a lot of guys will be simply going through the motions..

Had we not lost Morgan and Glenn, then I think we'd have a chance against Philly. I think we'd be a much better offensive team.

I'd love to see what our defense would look like with a healthy Pete Hunter and Darren Woodson.

We're just not good enough to overcome the injuries. Injuries are never an excuse for losing.

All that being said......I'd love to see us go to the younger guys. I don't see it happening however until later in the year. We won't go to Henson until December at the earliest. Parcells will not give up on the season, nor will he be able to swallow his pride and go to Drew.

Julius Jones however will be pushed into playing time sooner. I think we'll see him on Thanksgiving. We desperately need to see what he brings. He is the biggest hurt this season. All the losses stink, having a beat up WR corps and CB corps stink, but losing JJ stinks most. Not because he would be the savior of our running game....but because we couldn't see if he'd be able to carry the load. We go into the draft with a high pick that hasn't played enough, so we still have a HUGE question mark.

No matter what come out of their mouths... I firmly believe it was and has been all about 2005 right from the end of last season.

Don't get me wrong and I think we can both agree that another playoff team this season would have been sweet but I think all the moves (and non-moves) made during the offseason were done with 2005 in mind. We'll have 2 #1 draft picks and the best cap shape that we've ever, ever had. That should provide for a nice offseason and a better team going into 2005 than what we entered 2004.

Put it like this if...

Carson
Wiley
Vinny
Eddie
Dixon/Scott

are still starters on this team I'll be shocked. I'll go out on a limb (yeah big limb) and say that at least 4 will be gone from this team prior to the start of next season.

Perhaps MW...but then why the delay in playing the younger guys? And I don't only mean Henson...why bring in Wiley, and George, etc to block the young guys?

Do you think it was Jerry, who has always assumed his fans are jerks, trying to pass this off as a playoff team WHILE rebuilding behind the starters?

Good post.......I hadn't thought of all that.

Many of the players will just be going through the motions when we're out of contention. This is a recipe to get Drew killed.

I think we can depend on Keyshawn and Witten. The WRs are still young enough, and Key is still competitive enough to play hard. I'm concerned with the OL. Al Johnson strikes me as a guy that won't quit.....maybe even Tucker. But I can't forget Flo two years ago quitting, and I have doubts about LA.

I think you can add Coakley, Singleton, and Wodson to those possibly gone next year. For different reasons that you stated but that many is an obvious overhaul.

Hey Bizwah...especially if you read the article that Michael Downs wrote about how difficult it is to play through losing...

I think the vets are RB might not "quit" but there is a HUGE difference between quitting and putting out max effort...I'd be worried about Keyshawn in addition to the OL..

I don't think Singleton will be gone. He's solid (not spectacular) and his cap # won't be outrageous. Plus he's a good lockeroom guy.

Coakley and Woodson are gone though, unless Woodson gets back to 100% AND takes a pay cut.

Let's hope we draft DJ to add a playmaker to our LB core (sp?).

Oh, and get rid of Zimmer. Got to GROZ.
