Default CNNSI Banks' on Parcells

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...nge/index.html

Looks like somebody agrees with me about Parcells possibly walking:

DALLAS: Some people around the league say that when head coach Bill Parcells starts to speak a certain way, with a certain disgusted resignation in his voice, he's already lost interest and stopped having fun.

"He's already talking that way," said one league observer. "Like the fun is already gone a year-and-a-half into this thing. When you start to hear that from him, he's already gone. That's what he's saying these days."

Parcells bolting after just two years in Dallas might sound shocking, but should anything the Tuna does surprise us? After his Cowboys started 8-3 last season, earning a renewed sense of league-wide acclaim for Parcells, Dallas has since gone 5-9, including the playoffs. Besides, there's at least one stunner of a coaching move every season, and Parcells leaving Dallas would be this year's example.

A new era begins

Won't happen. BP wouldn't leave us in a train reck. Plus, next year could be fun, Henson, JJ back from injury, 3 high draft picks.

Obviously, I have my Cowboys bias.

But, my feelings are that if you look into the past, Parcells left when it had to do with health problems (Giants) or ownership changes (Pats and the Jets). From all reports, he isn't having any problems with Jerrah whatsoever.

I can’t think that Parcells would leave with a bad record and tarnish his legacy. Especially when the Cowboys have a great cap figure and 2 first rounders.

Plus, I think a lot of this is your typical “let’s hope the worst for the Cowboys” hype. Parcells acted the very same way in 1995 when the Patriots came off a 10-6 season to go 6-10. And for all of the talk about Parcells calling his team “stupid”, people forget that when the Pats went 9-7 in 2002, the year after they won their first Super Bowl, Belichick made the same exact comments about his team that was committing a ton of penalties.

You watch, the ship will be righted and the Cowboys will start off 4-1 next season and they’ll be talking about how much of a genius Parcells is and how is perfectionist attitude is so good for the team.

At least I hope this is the case.

I think Parcells returns as well next season and I also think the Iron Fisted Parcells will once again show up starting tonight. Bill commented last week that the only differance has been he has not been hard on players as he has in the past, trying to be more encouraging towards the players. I think that changes and I think it will begin tonight.
