F/A's
I want to drop Columbo, Spears, Roy Williams, Hurd (although I like his personality and special teams), Tank.
Re-sign Canty, Burnett.
Was looking at a bunch of free agents, we won't have much if any money left over, but we should be able to get one MAYBE two good vets to plug up some holes for us.
Oddball F/A if we could get for cheap if he wants to get a ring like Zach Thomas is La'Roi Glover, use him as a backup D.E. and put him in on passing downs to get a good pass rush form our D-lineman.
a longshot would be James Farrior, another vet but would help our I.L.B. core bigtime.
Some other players we could have a shot at for not that much money and maybe one or two could cost us, but most are old and with our new stadium and a chance at a ring, I'm sure some players would certainly throw us a discount.
O.T. Jon Runyan 6;-7 330 plug him next to Leonard Davis and just MAUL PEOPLE in the runnin game.
O.T. Vernon Carey, good replacement for Columbo and a BIG BODY at 6'-5 350 to once again have a dominating right side of our line.
Safeties I would like to get to pair up with Hamlin are
Jamie Sharper
Brian dawkins
Mike Brown
Lawyer Milloy
Other then trying to get ONE of these playwrs above and POSSIBLY two if we get a good discount, re-sign Canty and Burnett (shouldn't cost too much) and then draft a huge N.T. and a GUARD with our top 2 picks.

Why re-sign Burnett? Makes no sense on either side really. He's not good enough to be a starter for us apperently but he has enough talent to be a starting WSLB for someone. I doubt he's satisfied being a reserve.
I'd like to see Canty return, but everyone else can go imo. Colombo isn't bad, but won't be worth the money. Tank has done little, Roy "75% of the earth is covered by water, the rest was left open by me" Williams should be cut and Brad Johnosn should retire. Hurd is a RFA, so I'd bring him back, couldn't hurt, maybe if he has a good camp we can trade him.
I'd resign Zach to a similar deal, as he signed this season. And I'd resign Henry to a low signing bonus deal to play safety, so if it doesn't work out he can be cut.

You just said, he's good enough to be a starter possibly somewhere else, so if he wants to sign for a good price, why wouldn't we re-sign him?
Don't underestimate the new stadiu aaying on a superbowl favortie team and not having to move your family to anther state as very good reasons to give a discount on your countract.
Remember Keith Davis left cause he wanted to start and ought he was a starter in this league, only to be cut by the Dolphins and not even kept as a special teamer, lucky for us.

Everyone loves hurd, he's a real favorite in the locker room, and I met him a ton of times, really really nice guy too, he's a good reciver and an assett on the special teams.

What's the point of cutting RW and adding Dawkins Brown Milloy or Sharper.

you're a cowboys fans and SERIOUSLY have to ask that question?
Have you seen Roy Williams on field play DETERIORATE each year since he's been in the league and the past 3 seasons he couldnt' even cover Moose Johnston out of the backfield, plus it would be cheaper to cut Roy and sign someone else since he's due a lot next season and his productioon is not worth nowhere near what we're paying him.
You have to be the only cowboys player on the planet who still thinsk Roy is a good safety for us and isn't a HUGE and I mean HUGE liability in pass coverage for us.

Not only are ALL of them better, but MUCH BETTER, hate to break the news, but Roy Williams SUCKS BALLS!
I seriously can't believe I found the ONLY cowboys fan onthe planet to defend Roys PATHETIC plays he's had over the past 3 years for us, he was the mian reason we went out and got Hamlin and the MAIN REASON we signed Hamlin to a long term deal cause EVERYONE but you know his days in Dallas are DONE!

BWHAHAHAHAAHAHAAAA!
I'm done, now I feel 100% comfortable my draft picks and F/A moves are the right way to go if you disagree with it since you feel RW is better then Brian Dawkins and now Hamlin. LOL
HAVE YOU WATCHED a cowboys game in the last 4 years???
I'm done, I can't argue with someone who thinks Roy is a better safety then Hamlin or Dawkins.

Just unrealistic. Someone will offer him starter money. If he wants to sign with us as a back-up making back-up money, that's fine, but while he's here, he'll never be nothing more than a niche player, which I doubt is OK with him.

not unrealistic, why would someone offer him starter money?
He's never been a starter and often injured, it's no guarantee he'll get offered starter money.
I think we can re-sign him for a decent dicounted price, if someone signs him to starter money which I dont' think they will, so be it, good riddance, but I think he's gonna wanna stay here and win a superbowl and not have to move his family, don't underestimate those factors, players a LOT of times takeess to keep their kids in the same school and not have to up and leave thier home and move to another state and possibly a non superbowl team.
