Default I loathe taking out the trash.

I don't know what it is. Its such a simple chore. Takes almost no time at all. But I hate it. You give me a choice between washing a car, mowing the grass, doing dishes, making a bed, I'll take any of them over the simple chore of taking the trash out and putting another bag in the receptacle.

I've wondered if its because since I was about 7 years old, its been "my chore", and I'm just sick to death of it. And don't even get me started with taking it out to the curb on tuesdays and fridays.

Many a time I've been sitting in the living room, and I hear the rustle of the trash can and I look over and see my wife taking the trash out and putting another bag in. I always think the same thing..."Damn, I really need to go do that for her". Yet time and time again, I just sit on the couch and giggle to myself "HA, I got out of it again".

Any household chores that are simple that you just can't stand? Lemme hear them. I can't be the only one.

It beats a stinky house.

Besides you could have ended up hanging off the end of a truck at 5a.m. picking up everybody else's garbage.

I'm a great cleaner if I'm in the mindset to do it. Once I get started, I could clean everything and get it all done without complaint.

It's just getting in the mood that's the problem...

I totally agree with this.

What's funny is when I learned how to clean BETTER once I started working at fast food joints. Doesn't mean I wasn't taught to clean, but the detail in which I was doing it wasn't exactly stringent until I started working at 16.

Now when I'm in the mood to clean, the house is sparkling...at least for a little while.

Funny. For years, I wake up early on sunday mornings during football season, and just start cleaning. Nervous energy I suppose waiting for the cowboys to come on.

My wife loves it. By noon, the whole house will sparkle. (other than the trash can)

We got a bigger house so that one room could just be laundry that wasn't put away (or at least that seems to be the main advantage of the move so far).

Something to look into.
