Basketball team loses 100-0...Coach fired
The winning team left their starter's in the whole game against another team that hadn't won a game in 5 years and is entirely made up of players with learning disabilities. You have to admire their heart, though. The winners were too busy celebrating their enormous accomplishment and declined to be interviewed.

I remember reading about a girls high school basketball game that took place very early in the 20th century. They ended up playing through 7 OT's, but eventually they just called it a tie. A scoreless tie!
I have signatures turned off.

How can you not score a single point in a basketball game? Girls sports are boring enough, but this game takes it to ridiculous heights. I can understand losing, but none of thoe girls could chck up a prayer 3?
What a joke.

The coach should be fired for leaving the starters in the whole game. That's just bad sportsmanship.

Well, since posting the scores to their other games, I have noticed that girls high school basketball has to be one of the worst sports...
Either you have well coached teams with really good players or seemly poorly coached teams with bad players.
Some other local scores that didn't garner any attention. (These games happened over the course of this season.)

Wasn't this the story where the winning team came out after and said that the win was shameful?
I have to agree that it is. There's no reason to do that, especially in high school sports.

I was thinking I heard something about that as well. I think I even heard they decided to not count the game as a victory or something but could be wrong on that.

They did request the forfeit and issued this statement.

WHY are we not letting our children learn the valuable lesson that comes with losing from time to time. I'll never understand it.
