Out of that group, I'm starting to like Pryor a lot--probably even more than Brace. Pryor is getting a lot of attention from the scouts.
I like Knighton a lot too.

I think we just need a guy to replace Ratliff for a couple series, and there's a lot of guys who can do that. I'd wait until later and take a Taylor type.

I like Taylor too...I have seen differing opinions on where he will end up being drafted. I like his intensity.

I am starting to like Taylor as well. Chris Baker and Terrance Knighton could be nice options as well.
Terrance Taylor, DT, Michigan
The University of Michigan's Terrance Taylor is a phenomenal athlete. Aside from being a top football recruit out of high school, Taylor was also a three time state power lifting champion in Michigan, and the undefeated heavyweight state wrestling champion as a senior. Taylor's training as a wrestler has helped his football tremendously, because of the sports focus on positioning, balance and technique. His massive frame has allowed him to eat up blockers during his collegiate career, even while playing the nose tackle in former coach Lloyd Carr's 3-4 defense. Taylor has played in 47 games during his career as a Wolverine, registering 104 tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, and has batted down 3 passes at the line of scrimmage. His athletic ability has even made a difference for the Michigan special teams unit, where he blocked two kicks during his junior year and 1 as a senior. Taylor will provide whichever NFL team that drafts him with some versatility. He would be perfect in a 4-3 system with a smaller pass rushing tackle at his side, and is very comfortable playing nose tackle in the 3-4 alignment. Taylor also has the size/speed combination that could cause offenses nightmares if he lined up as a huge 3-4 defensive end at times. If he works out well and can run a 4.8 second 40 at the combine (his unofficial best time), his stock would sky rocket. Taylor could go anywhere in the second to fourth round, depending on the demand for defensive tackles at the top of the draft. Terrance Taylor participated in the East-West Shrine Game in January. Taylor proved during the week of practice to be extremely tough to block one on one. During the weekend's game, Taylor recorded 3 tackles and showed the ability to take on multiple blockers so his linebackers were free to make plays.

I would love to get him in the 4th...but after a strong combine I think the 3rd is more likely. I think I will pencil him in on my mock in the 3rd.

How has Dorell Scott looked in drills? I watched most of the DL work out, but must have missed him somehow.
For some reason I get a feeling about him. You know how we like those southeast guys. But he has that sort of underachiever tag. And talented but questionable work ethic/motor screams Jerry.

Roy Miller is a clone of a former Longhorn standout NT - Casey Hampton. He's a little smaller, but has more pass-rushing ability. I personally like the 6'1"-6'2" NT moreso than the 6'3"+ ones. Why? Because their height (or lack thereof) almost automatically gives them the advantage in the leverage battle. It's what makes Hampton, Kelly Gregg, Grady Jackson, and Jamal Williams (who is really 6'2", not the 6'3" he's listed) so damn effective. They consistently get under the center's pads. I think Miller could definitely be had on Day 2 and START THIS YEAR (yep, I said it).

Actually, Hampton only weighed 4 more pounds than Miller at the 2001 Combine, and they are EXACTLY the same height (Miller = 6012, 310 - Hampton = 6012, 314). Miller actually outdid Hampton in the bench press by 2 (36 to 34). He could really be a diamond in the rough kinda player (ala Jay Ratliff).

I recall NFL.com video saying Brace ran a 5.8x 40.

If I'm not insulting you, I'm probably not aware that you exist.
Jerry Jones in the draft room is suicide on the football field. The line of scrimmage is EVERYTHING. Something Jerry doesn't understand.
