Default We absolutely will get a veteran QB

We will gear up for a SuperBowl run next year.

With the success of Jones and Witten and the o-line looking pretty good with a real RB behind them, our only real gap on offense is a top 10 QB. Yes a tall young RCVR would be nice on O but we have enough skill-position horsepower (assuming Glenn comes back) to win it all.

Bill will re-construct the defense through FA and the draft. He will add a couple of DL, a CB, possibly a LB and a safety.

There is NO WAY Bill or Jerry believe that Henson will be able to lead the team at a SB level next year. And Vinny (another year under his belt) is simply too risky due to age.

So, there is no doubt in my mind that a QB will be starting next year that is not currently on the roster.

No matter how talented he is, you can not depend upon a young, in-experienced QB to play at the level necessary to go deep into playoffs. Especially one that hasn't played football for three years.

Think about it. Will we get a QB (like a Bledsoe) - mark it down.

(I know the Henson lovers will throw Big Ben's name out there, but he is a RARE exception and he has played a lot of football recently - not the case with Drew).

Bledsoe is under contract and with the way he is playing now and then factoring in how awful Losman looked in the game he got into, they'll probably keep him for another yr.

Mort seems to thik they'll go after Matt Hasselback if the Seahawks dont get him under contract before seasons end. They probably wont franchise tag him because Walter Jones and Shaun Alexander are both also free agents. I was actually surprised a little by Hasselback's numbers and also didnt realize he's a big guy at 6'4, 233.

Numbers a bit down this yr, though he has had an awful lot of passes dropped...he's gonna be 30 though, so you could possibly get a couple or three good yrs out of him, then have Henson (who's only 24 now) waiting in the wings. There's also the Parcells-Hasselback connection, because Parcells coached Hasselback's dad in the early 80's and knew kid Hasselback growing up

I hope, and think you may be right.

This is no knock on Henson at all, but I just do not think he is ready yet, he is going to need some time. He can still be the future, but it does not have to be next year.

There is a possibility of some decent QB's in FA next year, and some who could be had by trade.

Hasselback, Kitna, and Brees come to mind first.

Any of these guys can help us win, and handle the position for a couple of years while Henson learns.

Otherwise everything else we do sould be on Defense.

I agree. I think BP will get a veteran busdriver and let Hensen develop for another year.

With a solid vet QB and Glenn's return, this O can be scary.

We still need to fix the D. Lots of issues, and it all starts up front. The front 7 is too small, and that will be addressed.

I'm expecting a MUCH younger (and faster) team next year.

If we can finish the season 5-1 after going 3-7, then we're definitely primed for a serious run.

8-8 and one playoff win will be a very successful season in rebuilding.
