There is NO WAY Bill or Jerry believe that Henson will be able to lead the team at a SB level next year. And Vinny (another year under his belt) is simply too risky due to age.
So, there is no doubt in my mind that a QB will be starting next year that is not currently on the roster.
With the success of Jones and Witten and the o-line looking pretty good with JJ at RB, our only real gap on offense is a top 10 QB. Yes a tall young RCVR would be nice on O but we have enough skill-position horsepower (assuming Glenn comes back) to win it all.
Bill will re-construct the defense through FA and the draft. He will add a couple of DL, a CB, possibly a LB and a safety.
Think about it. Will we get a QB (like a Bledsoe) - mark it down.
[View Full Quote]No matter how talented he is, you can not depend upon a young, in-experienced QB to play at the level necessary to go deep into playoffs. Especially one that hasn't played football for three years.
(I know the Henson lovers will throw Big Ben's name out there, but he is a RARE exception and he has played a lot of football recently - not the case with Drew).

Bledsoe is under contract and with the way he is playing now and then factoring in how awful Losman looked in the game he got into, they'll probably keep him for another yr.
Mort seems to thik they'll go after Matt Hasselback if the Seahawks dont get him under contract before seasons end. They probably wont franchise tag him because Walter Jones and Shaun Alexander are both also free agents. I was actually surprised a little by Hasselback's numbers and also didnt realize he's a big guy at 6'4, 233.

Numbers a bit down this yr, though he has had an awful lot of passes dropped...he's gonna be 30 though, so you could possibly get a couple or three good yrs out of him, then have Henson (who's only 24 now) waiting in the wings. There's also the Parcells-Hasselback connection, because Parcells coached Hasselback's dad in the early 80's and knew kid Hasselback growing up
