Default Is Waterboarding A Form of Torture

You don't even need to debate the topic here. All we really want is your vote.

Please be honest. Say exactly what you really feel.

Hos, after this poll has run for a while, maybe you should create another poll that asks "Is torture justifiable?". I think that it would be interesting to see how the two polls match up.

While I understand why some would call it torture, it is a far cry from what many other countries consider torture...

This is an apples/oranges thing...

I voted yes, but I also don't care that we do it.

Nope. TOrture is something that if only done once or twice causes irreparable harm. How many times was that one waterboarded- 100 times?

No it's not.
Our servicemen(Navy Seals) are subjected to it.

I'll have to vote no, if it were torture we would not be able to use it in training our own soldiers. Do I believe it is enhanced interrogation, yes I do. I do believe there is a fine line though. Is it torture to run an individual till he spills his guts all over the field? In life we push the limits in all corners of life.

I must admit though, my view of War may be different than most.
Teamwork is essential — it gives the enemy someone else to shoot at!

wouldn't the difference be that the Seals volunteer for that wing of the service so the waterboarding comes with the territory? Wouldn't it be a test of their mettle?

Look up Burm's definition of torture(post#9).

How pansy of a nation have we become when a terrorist is subjected to a method of training we use in our own servicemen?
In whose side are those who enjoy the freedoms and protection and turn around and question the way it is given to them?

I have Bumfard on ignore so I don't read anything he writes.

Nice attempt to use the line from Jack Nicholson in A Few Good Men.

Anyway, sure seems like torture to me.
