Default What old software do you still use?

I found an article on OSNews that ask the question and I figured I would here on CowboysZone.

What old software do you still use?

I used to use several old software apps, but over the last four years I've phased all of them out. I was using PKZip command line compression utility (In windows) up until probably 2005. Only after that did I switch to things like Winzip or other compression programs. Today I used the freeware 7zip. It's free and it supports many compression types.

Please don't tell me anyone here still uses Lotus 1-2-3! (though my last company in Dallas had one person that still did when I left there in 2005.

There is a good chance that you don't like me, but there is a better chance that I don't care.

If I'm not insulting you, I'm probably not aware that you exist.

I knew someone that works for the state that called the help desk a couple years back to get his username and password. Then he went on a rant of having to upgrade to windows XP. I said, oh were you used to win2000, he said no he had used windows 3.1 all these years until they made him switch to XP. And this was just about 2 years ago.

Now at my work we use a program called Power Term for a data capture and retrieve as an emulation program on winxp to work on our unix/unisys server.

However the emulation program we used was designed for win95 and even when installing on XP or if we reboot our puters we get error messages but the program still works.

I still use XP, Adobe CS3, old version of ACDSEE (image viewer), 3DS Max 8 (2010 gui SUCKS), and an older version of winamp. Some newer updates to software I like gets too bloated. I refuse to "upgrade" to bloated software.

You know, you could probably upgrade to April System's Anita terminal. I'm betting it's far more powerful that PowerTerm.

We don't need an upgrade.

What we have serves what we need as it is only for occasional jobs and trust mewhen I tell you it would be more aggravating trying to show people how to use something different (even if it is the same)... some just don't do change well.

Now I'm not a Windows user or anything, but I wouldn't call XP old either. Lots of people still use it.
