Default I'm thinking of buying a boat.

I need someone to talk me out of it.

This will be used for watersports and some fishing in a freshwater lake. Any suggestions/thoughts/annoying and unfunny comments?

buy a boat that you could realistically spend a night or 2 in, I guess it has to have a bathroom, bed area, sink, microwave, TV and other stuff

it counts as a 2nd house, thus big tax break

my dad recently bought a powerboat for 60k, I don't recommend sailboats as it's a ***** to get ready to go out to sea/river

yes, I hope you go bankrupt, so splurge

A wise man once said. The best boat, is a friends boat. (they are a ***** to take care of)

That said, my brother-in-law has a nice bass boat and I know he mentioned at one point selling it.

There is a good chance that you don't like me, but there is a better chance that I don't care.

If I'm not insulting you, I'm probably not aware that you exist.

I had thought about getting something for the Gulf with a cabin etc., but I think I'm sticking with freshwater. Not sure how realistic it would be to go very far in the Gulf, but it would be awesome if I could take it to Cozumel or something.

you can take a powerboat on freshwater, they have cabins, and come around 21 feet, so they're not huge monstrosities

You don't need a boat for that.

Boats sound great, but they are a WHIPPIN. I would strongly recommend you don't do it. If you must though, I would tell you to get a pontoon boat. You can ski, fish, float, swim, tan, drink, bbq, and have a ton of people on there.

I've been wanting to get a bay boat. Still small enough for a lake but big enough to fish a bay also...
