Default District 9

Has anyone seen the new movie Distric 9. I have heard a ton of good things about it and it has a 9.1/10 on IMDB.com.

It's pretty dang good. Blomkamp is going to be a major film director! The movie starts off and most of it is kinda like a documentary. The FX were awesome. For $30mil, it was cooler and had better fx than gi joe and transformers that cost 6 times as much. Alot of crazy gore, like exploding bodies etc. Some of the weapons looked straight out of video games...like unreal tournament. So awesome....even had a anti gravity gun...funny what they use as the ammo. One of the coolest things is the alien mech, you can see it in the trailer....SOOOO friggin cool. After watching it, you'll never want to visit south africa though

I'd give it 9/10.

Absolutely fantastic movie. Like nothing I've ever seen before, that's for sure. I've been intrigued by this guy for a while and then that Halo thing came out and it was obvious he was going to take something to the next level.

Hopefully he becomes as prolific as he is original.

Very good movie. Definitely unique and original. The main actor and directing was very good.
Is there any reward for good other than good?

I'm going to see it this evening (check my three month old avatar). I would've gone yesterday, but my old ball-and-chain wanted me to wait until today so that she could go with me. Wives.

Sorry lady posters. Just blowing off some steam.

I'm in the same boat. I'm going to a movie this morning while she's at work and asked her what I could see, and that was the one she mentioned that she wanted to see. Thankfully she doesn't care if I see The Goods without her, so I'll be seeing that. Hope it's at least half as good as The Hangover.

Will have to wait until Monday or Tuesday to see D9, not paying $10 a ticket for weekend evening prices, $5 is much better.

I can't wait to see it. We are going tonight and I have a feeling it will be a full house at the movies. Then we are off for some fun at Dave and Busters!

Great movie, sound and special effects are outstanding. I heard that this is the first movie for both the lead actor and director. If so, they did a great job.

Nice.

I thought that it was a very good movie, but it wasn't an excellent one in my opinion. It was a great reflection of basic human nature though and that's where most of my praise flows from. After the movie ended, I found myself wanting it to have integrated more details about the MNU and the aliens themselves.

The bittersweet ending was a great touch too. Three years, folks. Three years.

Great movie and lived up to all the hype.

I wonder if there will be a second movie.

These guys are going to make a ton of money off of this film.
