For all you pro Xbox360 / Anti-PS3 guys
Xbox360 failure rate is 52.4%, or 16.3 million Xbox360 failed thus far. 41.2% (6.7 million Xbox360) failed AGAIN after being fixed!
Maybe you guys have better games, but at least the PS3 guys get to play theirs 89.4% of the time!
I have neither, but my son has a PS2 and a regular Xbox.

Kinda says a lot that it outsells the PS3, despite failing so often.

You know why Xbox has better games right?
For those that do not. PS3 uses a new chip called Cell Processor. (Cell Broadband Engine Architecture) This processor is an extremely enhanced version of the Power Processor that Apple used to use and IBM HPC (high performance computing) servers still use. The enhanced processor is build for high end multimedia and vector processing. It was built to bridge the gap between normal CPUs and GPUs (graphic processing unit) meaning it is far and away more powerful than the Xbox360 processor. Which I might add is a 3-core Power Processor that was spun off of the Cell Processor design, but isn't heavily enhanced like the Cell processor This processor is like the multi-core processors that comes with Computers these days, except instead of dual core or quad core, it has nine cores. One PPE core and 8 SPE cores. The PPE core is basically a controller for the 8 SPE cores. (that do the real processing)
Getting back to why Xbox360 has more / better games is because this new extreme CPU architecture requires a whole new paradigm to write any type of program for. (especially graphic intensive games!) The reason for that is, many games are written to only use one CPU. To now have eight is much more difficult to manage not to mention there are some differences in how it's managed.
To give you an idea of what I mean, try multi-tasking not just 2, or 3 different things at once. Try doing eight. I don't mean do eight things one at a time, I mean all at once! You know, rub your stomach and pat your head while writing in the sand with one foot and reading a tele-prompter. Thats, four. Add four more at the same time!
As these game programmers learn and get better at managing the Cell Processor, games will explode on the PS3. When the PS3 games are starting to blow the doors off of Xbox360, Microsoft will be designing their next console and I'm willing to bet, it will have a Cell processor too!

Man, the PS3 has been out for how long now? At some point, you'd figure someone would show off those powers that will "blow the doors off of Xbox360". Side by side comparisons of graphics just don't show it and more often than not, the 360 has better texture resolution.

Or by then they'll be on newer, better different hardware in a next generation machine.
I'm with Ozzu. After three years of being out, I don't think anyone should be still "learning" how to code for that hardware.

I've had my 360 in for repairs 4 times just about everyone i know who has one has had at least 1 break, honestly 52% seems a bit low.
My PS3 has never broke but then again I can still count the times i've used it for something other then blu-ray on my fingers

Graphics engines are very similar between the two. Both have strong points Where you will see the real difference is game speed and complexity. In the future, PS3 games will be faster and have more meat to them. More advanced features. Eye candy is a nice thing to have, but it does not make a game great. It just makes it look good.

It's not all learning, you have to add content too. The only downside would come if game developers limit content to what the Xbox360 can handle and just left it at that for the PS3.
