The AVATAR trailer was just released. This is James Cameron's latest movie. The budget is over $200 million!

Are you talking about The Last Airbender? This is a different film. M. Night Shamalamadingdong is directing the Airbender film.

It's a big underwhelming. The CGI is horrible at this point. I know there's still a TON of work to be done on CGI, but it doesn't even remotely look "real."

I agree with this. This trailer has definitely tempered my expectations. It seems as if the live action was stuff was treated to fit in with the CGI, not the other way around.

I think you're confused. This is Avatar from James Cameron. Not based on the cartoon. Avatar: The Last Airbender is the cartoon M. Night is making into a film. He couldn't use Avatar though so it will just be called The Last Airbender.
