Default Embarassing

If I were introducing American Football to an alien I would be embarassed to say that the Pittsburgh Stealers are the world champion-best-we-have-to-offer. How in the world did this team win it all last year? They have got to have the WORST running game in all of football. How many times could they not gain 1 yard? Big Fat Ben is a sack machine and will be wearing a robocop uniform under his uniform before seasons end just to stay coherent. It goes to show the state of football and how watered down it is. The Stealers stink...thus the NFL is pretty close to stinkage as well....

I felt that way too watching them last night.

The old adage, "it's better to be lucky than good" seems to fit them precisely.
Captain Nathan Brittles: "Only the man who commands can be blamed. It rests on me... mission failure!"

"Jerry Jones is a billionaire fan who bought his own team for the express purpose of buying his way into the game. He wants to hang out with the players, stand in front of the cameras, be the face of the team (yech), make personnel moves as if this were a video game, and more than anything else, be seen as the guy who made it all happen."

I hate the Stealers more than any other team, even our own divisional opponents (though they are only a fraction below). That being said, and these words taste like poison, they are the current champs. They are an ugly football team, but somehow it works for them.

What a joke the Stealers are!!! If that is the kind of football we'll see out of them this year, they may not have a winning record!!!! Absolutely pathetic O-line, no running game whatsoever...... The Titans ALLOWED them to win that game....... Watch and see them sink.......

Stealers?

Is that on purpose? Everyone of those posts spelled that wrong.

Lucky, good, or whatever the heck it is. They seem to get the job done in the end and thats what really counts. Winners find ways to win and the other teams always think about the 1 play they didn't make to win the game.

No, it's not spelled wrong. Though it could very well be spelled Steroiders

They play good defense, but Tennessee had receivers running wide open 15 yards down the field the entire game.

Big Ben is good. I think he's a top-ten NFL QB. But if Bironis (sp) hits one of two FGs early in the game, the pundits are discussing Ben's 1:2 TD to interception ratio instead of his efficient heroics.

Big Ben is nowhere near a top QB in this league. Doesn't mean he can't win and isn't effective and doesn't mean he's horrible either.

The Steelers win because they have an excellent defense and when their defense starts giving up yards, they stiffen up in the red zone and force teams to come away with a punt. They sack the QB, they play the run well and they force turnovers. On offense the big thing for them is that they don't turn the ball over a lot. This was what happened last year when they played good teams, much like the Cowboys game...the defense would keep them in the game while the offense would sputter, but it would keep giving Roethlisberger enough chances to finally beat the defense.

The Titans defense got a bit tired down the stretch and the Steelers O-Line picked up their game as well. But you can't drop 8 in coverage against Roethlisberger because his WR's are too smart to find holes in the zone and he pump fakes too well which throws off those in coverage.

If it helps you any, I think the Patriots beat them out this year.

Pittsburgh reminds me of NE pre Randy Moss. They sit around all game and hang around. Before you know it, there are 3 minutes left in the game and they are going down the field for a win and all you can do is sulk about the missed opportunities.

Dez Bryant, Receiver. A man who's season is over. Gentlemen, the Cowboy's staff can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to make the world's first super human receiver.
Dez Bryant will be that man. Better than he was before. Better.... Stronger..... Faster......

Their D is top notch. Ben holds the ball way too long and that will likely shorten his career, but he's a tough dude and those pump fakes are a killer. The coaching on that team is second to none. The run game was weak, very weak, but they beat a pretty good team so what can ya say?
