Default Starting Defense next year...

LDE:Greg Ellis (8-10 sack guy who many consider one of the most underrated des in football)
LDT:Justin Ferguson( i think thats his name, that DT from the jets)
RDT:Laroi Glover(a 5-7 sack DT with playmaking ability)
RDEavid Pollack( a rookie we select with our 2nd 1st rounder)

WOLB:Bradie James(I think with another off season of learning, he can become a real strength)
MLBat Nguyen(a solid MLB and a strength depending on the DT's in front of him)
SOLB:Scott Shanle(a steal and hopefully a constant in our linebacking crew for the next 6 years plus)

CB:Ken Lucas(he will have to be let go by seattle and all sources say we want him)
CB:Terence Newman(has really turned on the second have and has finally got over the sophomore slump)
SS:Roy Williams(the best SS in the game will finally be able to play SS)
FS:Pete Hunter(this is the position he has the best chance of excelling with a little bit of added bulk in the Off Season)

With this reasonable lineup, this defense could make a nice rebound...

Let me guess, you have Dallas taking Pollack with one of our first round picks. The next pick takes who?

(I think I already know the answer. I'm just curious who you think we'll take seeing how we need bodies on the defensive front.)

Marcus Spears would be a nice pick with 1b, esp if we transition to a 3-4 and add a FA DT. Spears is more athletic than Pollack and I'm a huge Pollack fan. I just think Spears will get more sacks as a pro.
Still left to accomplish:
sign OT Winston or G Moore

The only thing I disagree with is that you'll see Dallas probably sign a FA safety to compete for the other safety position.

I figured as much.

I'm just curious, I thought Pollack was undersized for a DE. Why does everything think he's going to be an elite player?

You don't think Hunter can get the job done? If he has recovered from his knee injury I think he could be pretty good.

I know someone mentioned that it would be a good deal if the safety can cover the slot. I thought Hunter did ok in that role over the latter half of 2003.

Plus he has played safety in college.
