Best Friend

I was talking with a friend of mine and we were discussing how we really can't trust people like we use too. A "true" friend is really hard to find these days.

Do you have a best friend? I mean a friend that will be there for you no matter what. One you know you can call. If so, how long have you been friends??

Yeah, I've heard it said that a person is lucky to have 2-3 friends like that in their lifetime.

I do have one like that now. We've been true friends for four years. We've always been there for each other through good times and bad.

I used to get these wedding invitations or engagement announcements that said something like, "I'm going to marry my best friend," etc., and I used to laugh.

I don't anymore.

I got remarried last year and my wife is my best friend. She always has my best interests at heart, will defend me no matter what, and is always there to listen and support.

I know that's sappy, but ....

I have some other close friends, but no one I would fully confide in, and no one I would completely depend on.

My Brother. He would run through walls for me and I would do the same for him in return. Outside of him and my wife, I just don't have that type of rapport with anyone else.

my girlfriend of 4 years and my cousin who is basically my brother i lived with him in highschool. would run into a burning building without thinking twice for both of them

If you were in Jail a friend would come bail you out, but a true friend would be sitting next to you in the cell saying damn that was fun!

a true friend is someone who knows everything about you, and still likes you.

my best friend is like a brother i've known him and been friends with him for 11 years (all of middel school, high school and after). I'd give my left gonad for that guy. Ironically his gf of 5 years is one of my other better/best friends
