Default Suggestions for the Cowboys new Stadium

I have seen the video of the new stadium on the web site. I don't see much in the way of tradition although I like what I see alot. So I thought maybe we could get some ideas flowing about what you would like to see at the new stadium. For me I would like to see the following.

1) Take down the ROH from Texas Stadium and use it at the new stadium to continue the tradition.

2) Name the new stadium Landry Field.

We move into the future with a state of the art stadium and we also maintain a link to our glorious past.

Thoughts?

I agree 100%. I have been hoping for this since talk of the new stadium surfaced. Hopefully, it won't have some crazy off the wall sponsor tag. Maybe something like "Tom Landry Field at (sponsor name) Park would be a good compromise.

I'll bet this has beem discussed a multiude of times at Valley Ranch.

There is probably a reason why they arrived at the name "Cowboys Park."

Tom Landry Stadium does sound great though.

I would imagine as large as this complex is going to be... you will see things like... "Landry Pavilion" "Schramm Hall" etc...

Unfortunately... the City of Irving owns the rights to "Texas Stadium" and you know they won't relinquish that if and when the Cowboys leave... I wonder if they could take Texas Park...

Although... you could call the facility "Landry Field at Cowboys Park"

Don't think for a minute there won't be corporate sponsorship... there will be in one way or another...

In fairness... it is good business... and they all do it... from MLB to NBA to NFL...

I can live with a little because I know we can't/won't pass on the opportunity to cash in on who we are. But if I see "XYZ Field" or "ABC Stadium" I'll puke.

"Suggestions for the Cowboys new Stadium "

How about in a different city?

I don't have a problem with the stadium, just who's going to pay for it.

It's easy for a owner to ask for a new stadium, but when the city says fine you pay for it, well then the owner gets outraged?

Funny things happen to a owners mood when someone take money out of THEIR pocket. Saying like "look at all the money that's going to line the pockets of my millionare friends, err I mean average people".

We already have 10 stadiums in Dallas when we had 100,000 people looking for food, now we have 500,000, so lets spend more money on Stadiums that employ 500 people a year full time.

Perfect. Those are such great ideas that we know that it won't happen. I just hope that when we sell the stadium name we sell it to a respectable sponsor. We'll never live it down if the Cowboys have to play at Viagra Stadium or Tampax Field.

Here in Houston when Bud Adams asked for a new stadium the mayor scoffed at it and refused, so of course Adams takes his team out of Houston and moves to Tenn. So what happens as soon as the Oilers leave town? City of Houston starts crying about wanting an NFL team and to get this team they promise to build a new stadium. This was a personal battle between Adams and the Mayor of Houston. I hope this is not a case of politicians with a personal grudge aginst Jerry. Of course I do not see Jerry moving the Cowboys out of the area and unlike the Houston team I hope people out there relize that the Cowboys do bring in a lot of outside money to the Dallas area (this was shown in a study a few years back)

I would LOVE to see something in the name mentioning Landry. It almost only seems right.
