Probably not a coincidence considering Evanescence's first album was actually titled "Fallen". They seem heavily influenced by Amy Lee and crew. Thanks for posting Kristie!

We Are The Fallen is comprised of the original members of multi-platinum trailblazing band Evanescence, guitarists Ben Moody and John LeCompt along with drummer Rocky Gray, with enigmatic American Idol finalist Carly Smithson powering the vocal reins of the new group. Respected touring and studio bassist Marty O’Brien (Disturbed and Static-X, among others) rounds out the iconic five-some. The energetic creative engine behind the launch of Evanescence

I'd say it's Evanescence with a less hot and less talented front lady. There's a much bigger gap vocally than aesthetically though.

It's hard to say, because all I've ever heard Amy Lee sing is what's on the radio. That's not particularly impressive. I'm not saying it's bad. But I've heard enough from Carly Smithson to be impressed. Not so much from Amy Lee. Maybe she is a better singer than Carly Smithson, but I haven't seen enough to make that determination.
They're pretty equal in the looks department.

amy lee might be a better singer, but i think that carly has more of what it takes to help make we are the fallen a success.

imo Amy Lee is far better live then recorded. I hate evanscence, but when i heard her sing at 2008's mayhem fest i was blown away by her vocals. Apparently shes trained in classical opera, the band still sucks though.

well the best evanscence song IMO was "bring me to life". anything else they did after that, mainly their next album "the open door", wasn't great.
