Rams | F. Robbins close to signing?
Rams | F. Robbins close to signing?
Sun, 07 Mar 2010 04:17:33 -0800
Jim Thomas, of The St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports the St. Louis Rams are very close to finalizing a deal with free-agent DT Fred Robbins (Giants). If everything goes as expected, Robbins will arrive in St. Louis Sunday, March 7, to sign a contract.
Good bye Suh, hello Bradford. I dont thin the Rams really wanted to take Suh, I dont think they really want to take Bradford but with the money the #1 pick demands it's a lot easier pill to swallow when your giving it to a QB. Robbins is a nice stop gap and still give the Rams a chance to draft a DT later.
This also makes DT a more a pressing need for the Giants if it was not already. Would they pass up Rolando now to look at a Brian Price?

i think you're spot on regarding bradford.
as for dt, i think they get j alford (sp?) back as well this year from injury. but i could see them going for a DL regardless.

Interesting developments.
Instead of this pointing towards the drafting of Bradford, perhaps it means the Rams are more interested in trading the pick.
If I the Rams, I still draft Bradford.
This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

The Rams should trade out of the #1 spot to the highest bidder. The Lions have to be giddy about Suh falling in their laps. I would be. Now they are going to line him up next to Vanden Bosch.

Potential to be a very disruptive front 4. I'd trade out, knowing that I'll still be able to get Bradford #2.

I'm sure the Rams would love to trade out of that pick. I doubt any teams want it though. It's a deep first round and that first pick gets way too much money.

I wouldn't unless the Rams were practically giving away the pick.

So David Carr got almost 4 mil guaranteed? Great for him. Great job by his agent, Mike Sullivan, who's one of the best.

They could make the Lions move up to keep anyone from jumping them to get to Suh.
When asked whether Jason Garrett is the right head coach for this team: "I don't think there is anyone else that could. I think he is an unbelievable coach. We've responded to him and he has made us better football players, better people. If you watch us I think we play with a certain relentless spirit." --Sean Lee
