Derek Anderson is done in Cleveland
Derek Anderson is done in Cleveland
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on March 9, 2010 2:44 PM ET
Derek Anderon's rollercoaster career in Cleveland has come to its logical conclusion.
The Browns released Anderson Tuesday, well aware that no one wanted him via trade with a monster roster bonus due in ten days.
The Oregon State product was picked off the waiver wire in one of former G.M. Phil Savage's best moves, and made the Pro Bowl in 2007 on the strength of vertical passing and an easy schedule.
Things fell apart dramatically since, as Anderson's accuracy and decision-making were among the league's worst the last two years.

I guess there were a few that may have thought that. I don't know why. Even in that great 2007 by Anderson he trailed Romo in many of the important statistical categories.

Yeah, Whisenhunt has said that they are going to bring in a vetern to compete w/ Leinart. Most think Anderson will be that guy.
I ALMOST feel sorry for my friends that are Cardinal fans.

Not true if you ask Slate - McNabb will be traded to the Cardinals
But yes, I've heard the same thing...Cardinals will likely be bringing in Anderson very shortly.

Now now guys, Derek Anderson would do well on the Cardinals. He was a Pro Bowl QB a couple of years ago and he didn't get old. He's on an amazingly bad team. No go to wide receivers or tight ends anymore, can't establish the running game, and he doesn't have a decent o line. Peyton Manning wouldn't look so hot on the Browns...As far as I'm concerned, Brady Quinn isn't as terrible as they make him look. He sucks, but not as bad.

You don't have friends who are Cardinals fans. There are no Cardinals fans. Just a bunch of guys who jumped on the bandwagon last year.

Anderson is a bit bitter...ripped the Clev fans and said they didn't deserve a winner. (he's since apologized)
The buzz today is Holmgren is shopping Quinn...and they will be looking at Delhome soon.
