Audio File Audio: Mike Hamlin - Cowboys DB's shooting for 30 INT's in 2010

Mike Hamlin: Cowboys DB's shooting for 30 picks in 2010!

How many interceptions did the Cowboys DB's have in 2009 as a unit?

Jenkins had 5, Newman had 3, Sensabaugh had 1 and Scandrick had 1. So the unit had 10 total INT's in 2009 and these guys are looking to triple this total in 2010...

Love hearing him talk about learning from Keith Brooking about film study. This could help him develop into a good 'Defensive QB' for the secondary. I think all the young players on this team could learn great things by following the lead of Keith Brooking.

So he plays Strong Safety at Clemson, then plays Strong for the most part last season. Now he's moved to Free Safety and will be fighting for the starting job. You do have to think about that for a second.

I think his ball hawking skills are what make him a candidate for the FS job. He had 14 picks while at Clemson and I do remember him having a few picks in training camp last season.

You would have to think the coaches are just trying to get guys on the field who can create some turnovers. That's the one thing this defense has been lacking for the last few seasons.

30 picks. If that happens you heard it here first.

You can copy and paste a link with the best of them...so yes you'll get all the credit if the Cowboys turn 30 picks.

I'll be ecstatic with 20.

I think we'll top 50 sacks.

If we average even two a game, we will score a lot of points.

If we get an average to above average return game, we will score A LOT of points.

IF we get both, we will score A LOT of points.

Mike Hamlin was my "pet cat" from last year so I'm hoping he earns more playing time this season. I think he can be the Safety we have been looking for since Darren Woodson retired. I would LOVE to see our Safeties start making big plays for us in the passing game.

Our DBs had 33 INTs in 1981 (our LBs got 4 more).

Everson Walls - 11
Dennis Thurman - 9
Michael Downs - 7
Charlie Waters - 3
Steve Wilson - 2
Benny Barnes - 1

That would be REAL nice!
Captain Nathan Brittles: "Only the man who commands can be blamed. It rests on me... mission failure!"

"Jerry Jones is a billionaire fan who bought his own team for the express purpose of buying his way into the game. He wants to hang out with the players, stand in front of the cameras, be the face of the team (yech), make personnel moves as if this were a video game, and more than anything else, be seen as the guy who made it all happen."

BTW 30 picks would be sweet!

This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

Same here. 30 would be great but just doubling what we had last year I'll gladly take.
