Default some picks sign and some news per gbnreport

i posted this because as you know, the dallas cowboys generally like to wait and let other teams sign their picks, so when a week or 10 days before training camp, the slots above and below our picks are already signed with other teams and cowboys can work out a deal. Adam and some others are super at posting that stuff, but i thought i would give alittle upgrade on it now, so we can think ahead since our picks have to sign a week before usual to be in camp due to the early hall of fame game.

June 1
(10:00 AM): Two more picks sign … While we were off the air for the long weekend, a couple of rookie DBs came to terms with the teams that drafted them this past April. Chicago signed FS Major Wright, a third round pick this year, while Houston signed CB Sherrick McManis, a 5th round selection. While Wright was only a 3rd round pick, he was the Bears’ first choice after the team traded away its first and second round picks. Meanwhile, the Bears released rookie free agent DE Lawrence Wilson.

Hawks talking trade turkey with Bills … Seattle has reportedly talked with Buffalo about the possibility of acquiring RB Marshawn Lynch in the wake of last week’s surprising release of RB LenDale White. The Seahawks had acquired White, one of new Seattle head coach Pete Carroll’s former players at USC, in a draft-day trade from Tennessee. However, White is reportedly facing a 4-game suspension from the NFL for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. The Seahawks and Bills had reportedly talked about a deal involving Lynch, who of course has had his own off-field issues in the past, but Buffalo reportedly was asking for a second round draft choice as compensation which was too rich for Seattle. But with the Bills having taken former Clemson RB C.J. Spiller with its top pick at this year’s draft and Lynch not reporting to Buffalo’s OTA workout program, the Bills may be willing to take considerably less.

Top young personnel exec back with Ravens … George Kokanis, who had been considered a rising star among young personel executives around the NFL has returned to Baltimore after a short, unhappy stay in Cleveland. Kokinis had been the Ravens' Director of Pro Personnel between 2003 and 2008 before moving on to become G.M. in Cleveland, but was abruptly fired less than a year on the job. With the Ravens will work as a Senior Personnel Assistant who will help evaluate college and pro players. The Ravens also announced that Mark Azevedo has been promoted to an area Scout covering the Southeast, Southwest and Midwest.

Around the web … While much of the pro football world took the long weekend off, long-time GBN friend Paul Guillemette, editor and publisher of ‘Paul’s Pigskin Place’ has been beavering away and passed along links to a couple of pieces worth a look. Given that it is best often not to just leap into things, Paul has given some time for the 2010 draft to sink and has only now started to produce his annual draft grades Paul, who specializes on the Packers and therefore knows something about cold weather sites, also has some thoughts on the NFL’s recent decision to award the 2014 Super Bowl to the Giants and Jets.
