Default DeSean Jackson, Asante Samuel missing from OTA per PFT

DeSean Jackson, Asante Samuel missing from OTA

woohoo maybe jackson and samuel will be fat and out of shape come preseason, and their bodies wont hold up all year long,

The Eagles reconvened Monday for the final four voluntary practices of the offseason, missing two of their biggest names.

Cornerback Asante Samuel was excused for a personal reason, according to the Eagles. (UPDATE: There was a death in Samuel's family.) The team had no official reason for Jackson's absence.

Jackson has been the subject of (over)praise for handling his contract situation without skipping any work.

It remains to be seen if this absence is merely a warning shot from the wide receiver, a random occurrence, or the first step in a Pay DeSean campaign.

Source: DeSean Jackson's absence isn't contract related per pft

With the sudden disappearance of Eagles receiver DeSean Jackson from OTAs coming only days after Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis ditched voluntary practices due to displeasure with his contract and at a time when Jackson ranks among the most underpaid players in the game, many league observers instantly assumed Jackson finally is taking action on getting a big raise.

Not so, we're told.

Per a league source with knowledge of the situation, the absence isn't related to Jackson's contract. Instead, he's handling some personal business, and he's expected to return later in the week.

The last portion conflicts with a tweet from Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News, who reports that Jackson is in Atlanta and that he'll then return to his home in L.A. for the rest of the week.
